Arizona Cardinals Analysis
The Arizona Cardinals are hanging onto the last wild card spot in the NFC playoff picture by a thread. Their 7-6 record is just one win above the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings. Winning next weekend against the Eagles would certainly help their odds of making it into the playoffs. Last week, they crushed the New York Giants 26-7 on the road.
Kyler Murray, last week, threw for 247 yards and one touchdown to Dan Arnold. He also connected with Deandre Hopkins for 136 of his passing yards. Murray ran for 47 yards in this game, the most yards he has run for since week 13. And, he ran 13 times, which is the most rushing attempts he has put up since week 10. The Philadelphia Eagles’ defense is a lot harder than the New York Giants. The Eagles rank 9th in both passing yards and passing touchdowns allowed per game, while they rank second to the Pittsburgh Steelers in sacks per game. Murray will be on the run a lot in this game with this defensive pressure.
Kenyan Drake had a big week last week against the Giants. He ran the ball 23 times for 80 yards and one rushing touchdown. Drake has scored a touchdown in all four of his last games and has been necessary for this offense. Chase Edmonds has a risk of not playing this weekend due to injury, so the run game may just rely on Kenyan Drake for this one. The Eagles’ rushing defense is the weakest component of their defense. They allow nearly 130 yards per game on the ground and the third-most rushing touchdowns per game. Drake will be a big factor for this Cardinals’ offense to succeed.
The Cardinals’ defense has done quite well this season. They have allowed just 23.3 points per game and around 344 total yards per game, both of which are above average values. Last week, the Cardinals caused and recovered three fumbles and produced 8 sacks in the game. They allowed the Giants just 7 points for the entire game. But, the Eagles offense has more weapons and now are rolling with Jalen Hurts. The Cardinals’ defensive front should take advantage of the Eagles’ weak offensive line and add on to the 53 sacks the Eagles have allowed this season.

Philadelphia Eagles Analysis
The Philadelphia Eagles are 4-8-1 and are now in third place in the NFC East and two games behind the Washington Football Team. Washington has started to run away with the division title, and it seems that the Eagles’ chances are declining. The Eagles have lost four of their last five games, but they impressively handed the New Orleans Saints their third loss of the season last weekend. They will continue their motivation behind the works of rookie Jalen Hurts.
Jalen Hurts took over for Carson Wentz two weeks ago against the Green Bay Packers and recorded his first win as a starter last weekend against the Saints. He threw for 167 yards and one touchdown while running the ball 18 times for 106 yards too. Hurts connected with Alshon Jeffery for his first touchdown on the season. The Cardinals rank 11th in passing yards allowed per game and 12th in passing touchdowns allowed per game this season and have a strong passing defense. Plus, they have put up the 6th most sacks as a team this season, which will be dangerous for the Eagles’ offensive line.
Miles Sanders carried the offense last week with 14 attempts for 115 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns. One of his touchdowns late in the game sealed a 10-point margin to put away the victory. This was the first time Miles Sanders scored in a game since week 5 this season, and he will keep the ball rolling into next week. Arizona allows nearly 120 rushing yards per game and 4.5 yards per attempt, and Sanders should take advantage.
The Eagles have an above-average defense in the NFL this season, and it will be necessary for them against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals’ offense. They have allowed a little over 25 points per game and just under 350 yards per game, which are solid figures. Moreover, the Eagles have produced the second-most sacks as a team on the season and could give Kyler Murray a hard time. They are a little banged up, however, possibly without the presence of Darius Slay, Rodney McLeod, and Malik Jackson next weekend.

Prediction
Spread: Cardinals -6
Moneyline: Cardinals -250
Over/Under: u49
The Arizona Cardinals certainly need this game to go their way, or they will heavily risk themselves being out of the playoff picture. The Cardinals should be able to take advantage of this easier matchup, even though they just beat the NFC leading team last weekend. The Cardinals have a better offense and a good enough defense to control the Eagles next week. I would take the Cardinals’ spread and money line.
The Eagles have hit the under in each of their last five games and are certainly not a big scoring team. Considering their defense is very good, too, I would take the under in this game.

Love/Hate Fantasy Picks
Love
Kenyan Drake has been on a roll scoring in his last four games, one game included two touchdowns. Philadelphia has a strong defense, but they are better at defending the pass than the run. Since the Cardinals could be without Chase Edmonds this weekend too, I would recommend starting Kenyan Drake.
Hate
Dallas Goedert was on a roll for three weeks, putting up three games with over 10 points in fantasy. Last week, however, he only put up 8.3 fantasy points off of 4-43 stat line. The trouble for Goedert was the return of Zach Ertz, making it a three-man tight end committee with the addition of Richard Rodgers too. Considering that the Arizona Cardinals allow the fifth least amount of fantasy points to tight ends this season, I would not start Goedert.
