Atlanta Braves Vs. Aaron Nola (R)

First baseman Matt Olson hit .271 while smashing 39 home runs and driving in 111 runs for the Oakland Athletics in 2021.  This season he’s hitting .253 with 29 doubles, 12 home runs, 42 runs batted in and 137 total bases.  The Atlanta native is slugging .481 with an OPS of .831 in 2022. 

Ozzie Albies has hit eight home runs, driving in 33 runs with a .405 slugging percentage this season.  The second baseman broke his foot in mid-June and is out until August.  Last season, Austin Riley hit .303 with 33 homers, 107 runs batted in while slugging .531.  In 2022, the third baseman is hitting .253 with a team leading 18 home runs, 43 runs batted in and 144 total bases, which also leads Atlanta.  Riley is slugging .505 and has an OPS of .827 this season.  Hometown favorite Dansby Swanson is having a terrific season, hitting .299 with 13 home runs, 43 runs driven in, 139 total bases and an OPS of .856.

Marcell Ozuna has hit nine doubles, 14 home runs, driven in 32 runs with an OPS of .688 this season.  He has 113 total bases with a .409 slugging percentage in 2022.  Adam Duvall has hit 12 doubles, eight home runs, driven in 28 runs with 88 total bases this year.  Ronald Acuna Jr. has hit .281 with seven home runs in 167 at-bats in 2022, since returning from a torn ACL that ended his season in 2021.  He’s currently battling a foot injury and is expected to be out Thursday. 

Aaron Nola is 4-5 in 15 starts with an ERA of 2.98 this season.  In 2022, Nola has pitched 96 2/3 innings, striking out 109 batters, allowing 32 runs with a league leading WHIP of .900.  Against the Braves in his career, the eighth-year righty is 13-8 with an ERA of 3.21, striking out 152 batters in 162 2/3 innings.

Philadelphia Phillies Vs. Ian Anderson (R)

In 2021, Bryce Harper won his second National League MVP in his career.  This season he’s hitting .318 with 21 doubles, a triple, 15 home run and 48 runs batted in to lead the Phillies.  This past weekend, he broke his thumb and is out until at least August. 

Last year, Rhys Hoskins played in 107 games, hitting .247 with 27 home runs and 71 runs batted in.  This season, he has 14 doubles, two triple, 13 home runs, 37 runs batted in with an OPS of .792.  Alec Bohm has hit 12 doubles, a triple, four home runs with 26 runs batted in this season.  Additionally, he has 97 total bases with an OPS of .657. 

J.T. Realmuto has hit 11 doubles, two triples, five home runs with 87 total bases this year.  The Philadelphia catcher has knocked in 29 runs while slugging .363 with an OPS of .677 in 2022. 

Kyle Schwarber who signed with the Phillies in the off-season, hit .266 with 32 home runs and 71 runs batted in while playing for the Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox last year.   The 2016 World Series champion has hit at least 30 home runs in four major league seasons.  Schwarber leads Philadelphia in home runs this season with 22.  He’s knocked in 47 runs accumulated 137 total bases, while slugging .511 with an OPS of .855 in 2022.  Nick Castellanos hit .309 last season with 34 home runs and 100 runs batted in.  Additionally, he had an OPS of .936 with 306 total bases as a Cincinnati Red.  This year he’s hitting .248 with seven home runs, 37 runs batted in with an OPS of .683.  Castellanos has 109 total bases while slugging .381 in 2022.

Ian Anderson is 6-4 in 14 starts with an ERA of 4.60 this season.  In 2022, the 26-year-old has pitched 74 1/3 innings, striking out 65 batters, allowing 38 runs with a 1.453 WHIP.  Anderson has won 18 games in his three-year career with an ERA of 3.68, striking out 230 batters in 235 innings.
