Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics Preview
As much as they’ve been trying to rally lately, the Atlanta Hawks will likely be the next team eliminated from playoff contention, but that will likely have zero effect on how Atlanta plays on the road today against the Boston Celtics.
The Celtics are 42-27 on the season and are currently fifth in the Eastern Conference. They have split their last 10, won their most recent games and are two games behind the fourth-place Indiana Pacers. Atlanta is 12th in the East with a 24-45 record. They have won their last two games and are 5-5 in their last 10 games..
In their last matchup on January 19, Boston won 113-105 as Kyrie Irving led the Celtics with 32 points and five assists. Hawks rookie Kevin Huerter finished with 18 points and seven assists to lead Atlanta in the loss. The Celtics will be looking to complete the regular season sweep of the Hawks today.

Atlanta Hawks Starting Lineup
The Atlanta Hawks are looking like a much-improved team since the All-Star break. While the record may not reflect it, the Hawks have a core group that is filled with a good mix of youth and veteran leadership and will likely be in a good position to snag a good draft pick to add onto that in the offseason.
John Collins, Trae Young, Kevin Huerter and Omari Spellman have continued to grow, while veterans Vince Carter and Kent Bazemore have been able to provide some leadership and the team seems to be clicking, even if it is towards the end of a rough season by most standards.
On Wednesday night, the Hawks dispatched of the Memphis Grizzlies easily with a 132-111 win. The Hawks scored over 30 points the first three quarters to put pressure on the Grizzlies.
Collins led the Hawks with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Trae Young added 22 points and eight assists, and Huerter has been combining his hot outside shooting with a nice passing touch lately. He had 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
“I try to stay aggressive and find the right shot,” Huerter said. “The ball movement makes us a hard team to stop. It’s really everybody starting to click and it all starts with unselfishness and ball movement.”
Aside from Taurean Prince also scoring in double figures, the Hawks had some scoring help from the bench with Alex Len going for 20 points and Carter adding 10.
Boston Celtics Starting Lineup
The Boston Celtics bounced back from a 115-140 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday without Jayson Tatum by beating the young, upstart Sacramento Kings 126-120 on Thursday night.
The Celtics looked to be in trouble early as the Kings got out to an early 38-25 lead, but the Celtics came back to outscore the Kings in the next three quarters.
Kyrie Irving led the Celtics with a triple-double as he finished with 31 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds. Irving has also been somewhat of a problem for tonight’s opponent, the Atlanta Hawks, to defend all season, but Irving seems prepared regardless of the opponent.
“It’s going to be a dogfight no matter who we’re playing against,” Irving said.
Against the Kings, Jaylen Brown came off the bench for 22 points, Marcus Morris added 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Jayson Tatum returned to score 15 points.
Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics Betting Odds
