Chicago Bears vs. Cleveland Browns Player Prop Picks
On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns host the Chicago Bears in a game that features two teams trending in opposite directions. Cleveland has suffered a litany of injuries on both sides of the ball, and while they’re 8-5 on the season, they haven’t been as convincing in recent weeks. The Bears, meanwhile, are coming off a massive win over the Lions, their third win in their last four games.
In this article, I’ll break down some of my favorite player prop options from this cross-conference matchup. Be sure to check out the Lineups YouTube page for video coverage of all of the NFL games on Sunday. Also use the player prop search tool above to make sure you’re getting the best odds in your market. Let’s get to work.
Jerome Ford Over 17.5 Receiving Yards (-115 BetMGM)
Joe Flacco has now started two games for the Browns, and running back Jerome Ford has played an integral part in the passing game in both. He has 30+ receiving yards in both games with a total of eight receptions. That would already lead me to be intrigued by this line, but the matchup is also strong here.
The Bears have an elite run defense, ranking 3rd in EPA against the run, but running backs have beaten them through the air with 57.5 yards per game, the most in the NFL. Ford has hit the over on this prop in six of his nine starts this season, and with Flacco offering limited mobility under center, expect him to utilize Ford as a checkdown target once again this week.
Amari Cooper Under 57.5 Receiving Yards (-113 FanDuel)
Amari Cooper came away with impressive volume on his way to 77 receiving yards last week, finishing with a 31.1% target share. However, this is a much tougher matchup this week as the Bears have allowed the second-fewest receiving yards to perimeter wide receivers since Week 9 according to Fantasy Points Data.
Cooper will be matched up with Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson this week, putting him in a tough position to succeed. Johnson’s 90.9 PFF coverage grade is the best at the position, and he’s allowed just a 47.6% catch rate while facing the opposing team’s top wide receiver week after week. Johnson has allowed just four total yards in coverage in his last two games per PFF.
Darnell Mooney Anytime Touchdown (+500 BetMGM)
If you need a longshot touchdown prop in this game, my favorite flier on the board is Darnell Mooney. While he hasn’t scored since Week 1, Mooney has remained a consistent part of the offense and his six targets last week were tied for the second-most he’s had all season.
The Browns have struggled to contain slot receivers this year, and they have allowed the second-most receiving touchdowns to the slot since Week 9 per Fantasy Points Data. With Mooney playing most of his snaps in the slot, that puts him in a strong position to succeed against rookie fifth-rounder Cameron Mitchell, who is the Browns’ starting slot now due to injuries.
