Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers Preview
Now this is an exciting one. The Boston Celtics make the journey to Philadelphia on Tuesday night for their primetime matchup against the 76ers. The two teams have held strong in the Eastern Conference and show every game why they deserve to be in the playoffs. The Celtics come into the game at 35-21, good for 5th in the Eastern Conference. The 76ers come in at 36-20, good for 4th place and one game in front of the Celtics.
This will be the third matchup between the two teams this season, the Celtics having won the first two. In the last face-off, Kyrie Irving’s 40 points led to a 121-114 Celtics win. Jayson Tatum grabbed 10 rebounds and Al Horford added 6 assists in the win. Yet, despite the loss, the Philadelphia offense was present throughout the game. Joel Embiid scored 34 points and grabbed16 rebounds. Ben Simmons added 8 assists as well. Philadelphia may have lost the first two rounds, but the third time is the charm. There is no doubt that Embiid, Simmons, and the rest of the 76ers squad are hungry for revenge.

Celtics Analysis
Boston comes into Tuesday night’s matchup in a strong position to make a playoff appearance. However, as a team that was expected to finish at the top of the East, 5th place isn’t exactly what the organization was hoping for. The Celtics come into Tuesday night’s game having won 7 of their last 10 games, but having lost the last two.
In their most recent loss, a 123-112 defeat against the Clippers, the Celtics offense came out firing. They jumped out to a 23-point lead after just one quarter and held strong until the first half came to an end. After dominating the first half, a win seemed almost guaranteed. Yet the second half was a hot mess as the Clippers outscored the Celtics by 32 points across the 3rd and 4th quarter, sealing the win.
Granted, the Celtics lost Kyrie Irving in the second quarter to a knee sprain. Talk of Kyrie Irving trades are still circulating the NBA and due to recent injuries, the Celtics star hasn’t been playing as well as normal. If they want to have a chance at beating the 76ers at home, the offense needs to pick up for the absence of Kyrie and the normally good Boston defense will need to return in a big way.

76ers Analysis
Home court advantage? No Kyrie Irving? The 76ers are certainly feeling confident coming into this one. Philadelphia comes into the game having won their last 2 and looking to gain more ground in the East. The team looks in tip top shape, especially the offense. Words cannot describe the contributions Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons have made to this team. Embiid ranks 6th in the NBA in points per game with 27.4 and Simmons comes in ranked 4th in assists averaging 8 per game.
The 76ers thrashed the Lakers on Sunday, winning by a score of 143-120. Embiid led the way with 37 points and 14 rebounds in the win. New 6er Tobias Harris also contributed, scoring 22 points for his new organization. He was quoted after the game saying he felt comfortable in his new home and was ready to do all he could to give the team a strong end to the season.
As a team the 6ers rank near the top of the NBA in almost every offensive category. They come in 3rd in points per game with 115.9 and 3rd in assists per game with just over 27. They may not be the best defensively, but with the Boston defense struggling, the Philly offense should have no problem taking this game over. After all, when you’re 23-6 at home and your team is healthy, you have good reason to be confident.
