Milwaukee Bucks Vs. Phoenix Suns: Predictions, Starting Lineups (2/6/24)
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks travel to Phoenix for a showdown with the three-headed monster of Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant. Can the Bucks return to the winning column and knock off the Suns? Take a look below at our Milwaukee Bucks vs. Phoenix Suns prediction, which includes our favorite betting picks, the projected starting lineups, and injury reports for both teams!
Milwaukee Bucks Vs. Phoenix Suns Prediction
Maybe the grass isn’t always greener? Perhaps the Milwaukee Bucks are finding this out after canning their previous head coach, Adrian Griffin, in favor of Doc Rivers. Rivers has started his Bucks coaching stint with a 1-3 record, including a massive collapse against the Utah Jazz in their most recent outing. While it is obviously too early to make a statement confidently, one way or the other, it should at least concern Bucks fans and backers.
Meanwhile, after playing seven consecutive road games, the Phoenix Suns return home with four more wins and a healthy squad. Phoenix has been shooting lights out recently, averaging 132 points per game while knocking down 43.3% of their three-point attempts in their past three games. Both of those marks rank second in the NBA in that stretch.
The Milwaukee Bucks have had the Suns’ number in their past eight regular season games, winning seven of them; however, we like Phoenix to win in this spot at home.
The Suns have Booker, Beal, Durant, Nurkic, and Allen available for this matchup, giving them one of the most dangerous five-man lineups in the league; they have an offensive rating of 131.8, which is by far the highest rating of any lineup that has played at least 220 minutes together this season. Additionally, their true shooting percentage is nearly three percent higher than the next closest lineup (the Clippers starting five.)
Further, the Bucks’ perimeter defense is atrocious (allows fourth-most points to opposing point guards and shooting guards), which is a huge weakness when playing a team like Phoenix. Damian Lillard and Malik Beasley are notoriously bad point-of-attack defenders, which means Devin Booker and Bradley Beal will seek isolations or make them run through ball screens all night.
There is also a strong chance that one or two key Bucks players will miss tonight’s game, considering three starters are listed as questionable right now. If any of them are sidelined, Phoenix will hold a huge advantage over Milwaukee, especially on the offensive end of the floor. And that’s a real possibility since Brook Lopez and Khris Middleton missed the team’s last game.

Milwaukee Bucks Vs. Phoenix Suns Injuries
Milwaukee has several starters listed as questionable for this game against the Phoenix Suns, including Brook Lopez (personal), Khris Middleton (knee), and Damian Lillard (ankle.) These three players can swing the betting line substantially, so keep an eye on their availability leading up to tip-off.
On the other hand, the Phoenix Suns only have one player (Damion Lee) currently on the injury report. Lee will be sidelined for the foreseeable future due to a knee injury.
