Buffalo Bills Analysis

Buffalo BillsThe Bills struggled heavily at the beginning of Week 1. The Jets defense shut them out for the first half and almost through the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter put a spark in an offense that had not accomplished much. All of sudden, Devin Singletary found holes and put together long runs which opened up passing lanes for Josh Allen. Allen also showed off his legs a couple of times, once resulting in a touchdown.

The Bills heavily relied on the pass against the Jets and will probably do the same thing against a Giants defense that gave up 400+ yards through the air to Dak Prescott. Players like John Brown and Devin Singletary will have to come through for the Bills if they want to score big against the Giants. But with no stand out wide receivers, expect Josh Allen to also use his legs to continue to move the chains. Singletary will also need to step up big in the run game. The rookie was a major factor in the comeback win and helped jumpstart the offense. Whether Singletary will continue to break out large runs will determine the outcome of this game.

New York Giants Analysis

New York GiantsThe Giants return home after a humiliating loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys, led by Dak Prescott, put up huge numbers on a struggling defense. The Bills offense is nothing special, so the Giants will need to put together strings of stops to give the offense as many chances as possible to score. As for the offense, we saw standout performances from Saquaon Barkley and Evan Engram, both racking up 100+ yards. With the continued suspension of Golden Tate, Eli Manning will have to use those two again to get anything going on offense.

The Bills did not let the Jets put up crazy amounts of yards on them, holding Sam Darnold to 175 yards through the air, and Le’Veon Bell to 60 yards on the ground. If the Giants can establish the run game through Barkley, their options grow. But they need to use Barkley more on the ground than they did against the Cowboys. Saquon carried the ball 11 times against the Cowboys. There is no way that the Giants will win if he only gets 11 carries. Also, Sterling Shepard needs to step up as the head wide receiver. Without Odell Beckham Jr., this offense looks totally different. Engram and Barkley are both solid targets for Manning, but Shepard needs to make his presence known to the defense to further move the offense down the field.

Daily Fantasy: Josh Allen vs. Saquon Barkley

Josh Allen can prepare to be a dominant force in this game against the Giants secondary that fell apart. Allen is coming off a hot streak after leading back to back touchdown drives against the Jets and will be looking to carry that momentum against a struggling Giants team. Expect John Brown to be the number one target as he was last game. Singletary should also prepare for a big game out of the backfield whether that be through long runs as it was against the Jets, or through the air, since the Giants let up 400+ passing yards in their previous game. As for the Giants, Saquon Barkley needs to be the driving force in an offense that is severely lacking in talent. He is the number one RB in the league and should be used that way. 11 touches are not going to cut it for a player who averaged 10.9 yards per attempt in those 11 touches. He should easily eclipse the 100-yard mark this week. Expect more volume out of #26 in the Giants’ uniform.
