On Thursday evening, Alex DeBrincat scored a power-play goal at 2:23 into overtime to give the Chicago Blackhawks a 4-3 win against the Edmonton Oilers.  Patrick Kane scored his 17th goal of the season and had an assist, while Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 saves for Chicago.  The Blackhawks are 20-27-8 with 48 points, seventh in the Central Division.  The Flyers lost at home to Wild on Thursday night 5-4.  Scott Laughton had a goal and assist while Carter Hart made 33 saves in the loss.  Per NHL.com, Philadelphia has lost 21 of their last 24 games and five of six on a club-record eight-game homestand.  The Flyers are 16-28-10 with 42 points, eighth in the Metropolitan Division.

Claude Giroux, the Flyers captain leads the team in scoring with 40 points this year (17 goals and 23 assists).  The 2021-22 All-Star Game MVP has 12 points on the power play this season (three goals and nine assists).  In 51 games, Giroux is logging 19:20 of ice time per game.  Playing in his 15th season, he has been excellent in the face-off circle winning 62% of his draws.  Will Philadelphia’s leader be on the move at the deadline as the club looks to rebuild?  Cam Atkinson leads Philadelphia in goals this season with 18 and ranks second on the team in points with 39.  Appearing in 54 games, he is a +5 and has five points on the power play (two goals and three assists).  Atkinson leads the team in game winning goals with five this year.  Travis Konecny is third on the team in scoring with 32 points (nine goals and 23 assists).  He has seven points on the power play.  Scott Laughton has 26 points in 51 games (11 goals and 15 assists).  He’s third on the team in hits with 111 and averaging 16:35 of ice time per game.  James van Riemsdyk has scored 12 goals on the year and is second on the team in game winning goals with four.
