Cincinnati Bengals Analysis

Cincinnati BengalsAfter a cold start to the season, Joe Mixon has been hot over the past two weeks. In week 14, he ran for 146 yards and a touchdown against the Browns. In week 15, he ran for 136 yards against the Patriots. This week, he faces a Dolphins defense that has allowed the most rushing yards to running backs, so he should have another great game this week. He is a must-start in all fantasy leagues this week.

The only other player on the Bengals worth starting is Tyler Boyd. Since AJ Green will likely miss this game, Boyd will serve as the WR1 for the Bengals. As Andy Dalton’s favorite target, he should get a lot of looks this game. Even though he was shadowed by Stephon Gilmore last game, Andy Dalton still threw the ball to Boyd 7 times. Boyd did not perform well last game, catching only 3 passes for 26 yards, but this shows that Dalton is often looking to throw to him. Additionally, the Dolphins rank 26th in fantasy points allowed to receivers. Boyd’s high volume of targets and favorable matchup make him a great start this week.

Miami Dolphins Analysis

Miami DolphinsEven through this disastrous season for the Dolphins, one player who has performed consistently well is DeVante Parker. Since week 4, Parker has scored 11+ PPR points in all but one game. Not only is his floor extremely high, but his ceiling is very high as well. He has scored 20+ PPR points three times over the last five weeks and scored 37.2 fantasy points against the Eagles. He has a very impressive game log and should continue that trend with another great performance against the Bengals. The Bengals rank 6th in fantasy points allowed to receivers, but that should not stop Parker this week. Even if he is covered, Ryan Fitzpatrick will still throw the ball to him, and Parker is very good at catching balls in coverage.

Ryan Fitzpatrick should also have a great game against the Bengals this week. They rank 18th in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks, and Fitzpatrick has been playing pretty well over the last few weeks. In last week’s loss to the Giants, Fitzpatrick managed to score 21.5 fantasy points. With his aggressive playstyle, Fitzpatrick could easily score a lot of fantasy points against the Bengals average secondary this week. Lastly, the running backs for the Miami Dolphins should not do too well. Patrick Laird and Myles Gaskin are currently splitting carries, and have not performed very well individually. Though the Bengals have allowed the most rushing yards in the league, it is unlikely that either running back can exploit that weakness.

Daily Fantasy: Bad Defenses = Lots of Points

Joe Mixon (DK: $6,600, FD: $7,800) is a great start for this week. He is facing an ineffective run defense and has had 54 touches over the last two games. His recent uptick in production and the matchup against the Dolphins defense could make him one of the top fantasy running backs this week. Next, DeVante Parker (DK: $6,800, FD: $6,900) should have a great game and continue his consistent production against the Bengals defense. He is slightly overpriced on DraftKings, but he is pretty cheap on FanDuel. Tyler Boyd (DK: $5,800, FD: $6,300) is also a great start because he is Andy Dalton’s favorite target and is also facing a generous defense. He is extremely cheap this week, making him an enticing option. Lastly, Ryan Fitzpatrick (DK: $6,000, FD: $7,400) is a solid option at quarterback this week. He is pretty cheap and could have a monster game against the Bengals defense.
