Cincinnati Bengals vs. Philadelphia Eagles Matchup Preview (9/27/20): Betting Odds, Depth Charts, Live Stream
This is the game everyone has been looking forward to. The clash of two 0-2 teams. There are still 11 0-2 teams out there which are still almost half of the NFL teams through two weeks. The Cincinnati Bengals lost two close games to begin the season. A missed field goal attempt as time was running out cost them a chance of winning in overtime in week 1, and a late comeback attempt in week 2 fell short by one possession. Both games were against teams they could have beaten but now they find themselves two games behind the Ravens and the Steelers in the AFC North. It will be a long uphill climb if they want to compete for the division but they are not out of it yet. A win against the Eagles this week will be a step in the right direction as they are almost a must-win game because it will not be getting any easier from here. They have to win against the easier teams to have a chance. For the Eagles, they are kind of in the same boat, except the NFC East is all falling apart. They are just one game out of first place since the Washington Football Team lost last week. The Cowboys took a share of the lead with a win, but the Eagles are by no means out of the running. They have a solid offense building up, they just need to fix their offensive line and give Carson Wentz a chance to make plays. The Bengals are a team they should be beating and an important step towards competing for the division title. Cincinnati Bengals Analysis
Joe Burrow has slid into the starting quarterback position and you can debate either way between whether he has looked good or not. In terms of looking at him as a rookie quarterback, I think he is looking great. Through two weeks, he has thrown for over 500 yards while rushing for an additional 65. His four touchdowns are impressive for a rookie as well. All the Bengals need is to not wait until the end of the game to begin taking control of the game. In both weeks, they have come so close to putting together a comeback but run out of time. The let down of the season so far has been Joe Mixon. It seems like every year, it is said that it will be Mixon’s year but the Bengals continue to fail to utilize him to his maximum potential. On top of that, Mixon has failed to make big plays as he can. His 3.3 yards per carry is below what should be expected of him and he has only accumulated 115 yards through two games. Mixon has shown in the past that he can get that total in one game, but they have not gotten him very close to that total. A large majority of the work is being thrown on Joe Burrow. While he can handle it, it will take more Joe Mixon to take better control of games.

Philadelphia Eagles Analysis
After a surprising loss to the Washington Football Team in week 1 and a blowout loss in week 2 against the Rams, the Eagles now have some catching up to do. Winning games like this week will be paramount if they want to have a shot at staying with the Cowboys. The Bengals are a team they should be beating easily if they want to be a playoff team and they will have to show it this week. The Bengals defense has not been anything special, especially after last week in which the Browns scored 35 points. Carson Wentz has many options with DeSean Jackson, Jalen Reagor, Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, and Miles Sanders. What we have seen is that he has not gotten the time needed to make a play as the pressure builds up quickly around him. The offensive line needs to be the driving force in the offense. Last week they showed improvement as Sanders rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown but protecting Wentz will be the key to future victories. The defense will need to step up as well as they cannot keep allowing close to or over 30 points each game and hope to win. The offense is not built to compete with that. The Bengals should be more of a breather for the Eagles, but they still cannot take them lightly as this game is very important for both teams to get back on track.

On paper, the Eagles should take this game in a heartbeat as they have the experience and talent advantage over the Bengals. What may draw betters away from the Eagles is their ability to put it all together on the field. A miserable loss to the Washington Football Team and the Rams. Their defense has been looking shaky but the return of Miles Sanders on offense should help. On the other side, the Bengals have hope in Joe Burrow but can they put together their offense earlier in games? That will be the big question going into this game but the Eagles are clear favorites to win in what will probably turn into a shootout.

Daily Fantasy Picks
As much as I think that the Bengals will lose this game, I think the score will get run up quite a bit. Joe Mixon will likely be the reason for if that happens. The Eagles allowed 37 points last week and Darrell Henderson had a lot to do with it in terms of yard production. He had 81 yards on just 12 carries and a touchdown. That is the sign of a team that is struggling to stop the run. Joe Mixon has been a quiet option so far without much significant value but if there was a game for him to break out in, this is the week against a poor run defense. It is risky but also a high reward chance of going with Mixon this week.
After a strong return to play in week 2, Miles Sanders is set to have another explosive game that could yield even greater results. The Bengals allowed 124 yards and 2 touchdowns to Nick Chubb last week. Miles Sanders has the capacity to replicate similar results but is also a dual-threat as he is the running back the Eagles use through the air as well. Kareem Hunt also ran for 86 yards which means we might see additional use of Boston Scott, but Sanders will get the majority of the work and value. There is a lot of yards out there for Sanders to grab as the Bengals seem to allow opposing running backs to run free.
