Cincinnati Bengals Vs. San Francisco 49ers Player Prop Picks
This matchup between the Bengals and 49ers has more storylines than I can begin to count. The Bengals are coming off their bye week, looking to put a 3-3 start in the rearview mirror and get back into the mix in the AFC North. The 49ers, meanwhile, are looking to rebound from two straight losses but will likely be doing it without Brock Purdy as he’s in concussion protocol. Sam Darnold is expected to get the start in his place.
What does it all mean for player props? That’s the big question we will attempt to answer in this article. Use the player prop search tool above to make sure you’re getting the best odds for all of the prop bets you’re placing. Christian McCaffrey Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-175 Caesars)
I mean, can you really go wrong with this? Christian McCaffrey extended his touchdown streak to 16 games last week, making NFL history in the process. The 49ers will be relying on him heavily once again this week, especially with quarterback Brock Purdy expected to miss this week’s game.
The Bengals rank just 27th in run defense DVOA this season as they’ve struggled to corral opposing running backs, so this is a great matchup for McCaffrey to find success on the ground. Regardless of the matchup, though, CMC is a consistently great bet to score a touchdown, and I’d recommend including this prop in your SGPs for this game, as well.
Tee Higgins Over 45.5 Receiving Yards (-115 BetMGM)
It has been a very quiet start to the season for the Bengals’ passing attack on the whole, and that especially extends to Tee Higgins. The star wide receiver has just one game with over 25 receiving yards this season. Joe Burrow’s calf injury was a huge reason why as the quarterback’s lack of mobility hurt the offensive production.
However, Burrow should be fully healthy coming out of the bye week, and I believe that will provide a boost for Higgins in the passing game. The 49ers will likely key in on Ja’Marr Chase in this matchup, leaving one-on-one opportunities for Higgins against some underwhelming cornerbacks. When we look back on this prop in a few weeks, it could seem silly that Higgins was ever priced at this number.
Joe Mixon Over 52.5 Rushing Yards (-115 BetMGM)
I’m banking on the whole Bengals offense turning things around coming out of the bye week, and that extends to Joe Mixon. The running back has been steady, hitting the over on this prop in five of his six games, but he has yet to have a 100+ rushing yard performance. That could change this week.
The 49ers are surprisingly poor against the run this season, ranking outside the top 20 in run defense DVOA, EPA, and success rate. It stems from the fact that they rank 25th in defensive line yards. Mixon isn’t quite the same dynamic runner he used to be, but the Bengals will likely lean on him in this game to help keep the offense balanced, and this number is low relative to the volume I’m expecting.
