Los Angeles Clippers Vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction
Positive vibes in the Golden State Warriors organization seem to be on the rise as the Dubs look to win their sixth straight game on Wednesday. Interestingly enough, four of their past five wins have come on the road, exemplifying their improvements away from their home floor. However, this game will be played at the Chase Center, a place where the Warriors were exceptional last season but have not played all that well this season (14-13.)
Regardless, the Warriors have been phenomenal in their past five games, holding the second-highest net rating (and the lowest defensive rating) while shooting roughly 49% from the field and 42% from behind the arc. Golden State’s defensive focus has been refreshing, as it held four of its five opponents in that span to fewer than 110 points.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been horrendous in their past three games. In fact, they are fresh off a 21-point home loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, a narrow six-point come-from-behind home win against the Detroit Pistons (the worst team in the league), and an 11-point home loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.
After playing so well for an extended stretch, the Clippers seem to be cooling off, which should further be accentuated in this game by Kawhi Leonard’s absence, as he is dealing with an adductor injury. Without Leonard, it will be up to James Harden and Paul George to carry the offensive workload against a Warriors team that has been locking up defensively. Do they have a shot at stealing a road win here?
We really don’t like the Clippers’ chances to win in this spot. For one, the loss of Leonard stings on both ends of the floor and leaves a major gap in the Clippers’ frontcourt, which will force them to play Amir Coffey and Kobe Brown for extended minutes against Jonathan Kuminga. Kuminga has been fantastic in his past 14 games, averaging 23 points and six rebounds on close to 58% shooting from the floor and a 46% clip from deep.
Golden State has shot better from behind the arc (46.2%) in its past three games than any other NBA team, while the Clippers’ three-point defense could sometimes struggle without Leonard.

Los Angeles Clippers Vs. Golden State Warriors Injuries
The Los Angeles Clippers have three players listed as out on their injury report for Wednesday night’s Western Conference matchup against Golden State: P.J. Tucker (not with the team), Bones Hyland (not with the team), and Kawhi Leonard (adductor strain) will all be sidelined.
On the other hand, Golden State will only be without veteran guard Chris Paul, who has been out for several weeks due to a hand injury.
