Dallas Cowboys Analysis
The Dallas Cowboys outscored the San Francisco 49ers last week 41-33 to improve their record to have five wins on the season. This game is imperative for them to win to have a shot at the playoffs, while hoping the Washington Football Team loses to the Carolina Panthers this weekend too.
Last week, Andy Dalton threw for 209 passing yards and two touchdowns in their win over the San Francisco 49ers. He connected with Michael Gallup and Dalton Schultz to help his team out. Dalton did not turn the ball over at all in this game either. The Eagles do, however, produce the third-most sacks on the season and the Cowboys have allowed the 11th most sacks to their defenses. Protecting Andy Dalton will be a priority. The Eagles do also allow near a 70% completion percentage to their opponents this season.
Tony Pollard stepped up big time for the Cowboys last week, by putting up 69 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns off of just 12 attempts in the backfield. Ezekiel Elliot was out last week with a calf injury last game, but he has been practicing this week and has a good shot at coming back. The Eagles do allow over 125 rushing yards per game and the fourth most rushing touchdowns to their opponents this season. The run game should thrive for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys’ defense also stepped up big last game by forcing and recovering two fumbles and two interceptions against the 49ers. In special teams, CeeDee Lamb also scored a late kick return touchdown that was meant to be an onside kick from the 49ers. The Eagles, on the other hand, do have offensive weapons with Miles Sanders and rookie Jalen Hurts stepping up at quarterback.

Philadelphia Eagles Analysis
The Philadelphia Eagles have been thriving behind the works of Jalen Hurts since he replaced Carson Wentz at quarterback. Hurts led the Eagles to beat the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago in his first career start. However, last week the Eagles suffered a tough loss to the Arizona Cardinals that knocked them to the bottom of the NFC East. They will need to win out the rest of the season to have a chance at the playoffs.
Jalen Hurts had a massive game in the stat sheets last game against the Arizona Cardinals. He threw for 338 yards through the air and three touchdowns, while rushing for an additional touchdown late in the third quarter. However, he was the victim of a safety early on that led the Cardinals to go up by 16 in the first quarter. Dallas has a viable passing defense, for the most part, allowing the eighth least amount of passing yards per game. However, they have allowed the most passing touchdowns this season to their opponents.
Last week, the run game was a bit stagnant for the Eagles, led by Miles Sanders. Miles Sanders ran 17 times for just 64 yards and went without a touchdown in the game. Luckily, the rushing ability of Jalen Hurts certainly mixes up the offense for the Eagles, especially when he is under pressure. Dallas has one of the worst rushing defenses in the league. They allow the most rushing yards per game and a 5.0 yard average per attempt. The Eagles should undoubtedly take advantage of this weakness next week to improve their odds of getting a win.
The Eagles defense is the first team in the rankings to have a positive DVOA at 0.1% in efficiency. They allow 25.8 points per game and around 360 yards per game. Against the Cardinals last week, they recovered two fumbles and caused one interception in the game. The Dallas Cowboys have a lot of elite skill players that they will need to keep an eye on during the game.

The Dallas Cowboys could make a huge statement with a win against the Eagles next weekend, and I believe that is what they will do. They have looked better on offense, but with the step-up in defense and the run game, I expect them to show out against the Eagles to compete for the playoffs. I would select the Cowboys to win and cover their spread.
Both of these teams have two close records when it comes to the over/under. The Cowboys are 8-6, favoring the over, and the Eagles favor the under at 6-8 this season. However, with the importance of this game and the closeness, expect the under to hit for this one.

Love/Hate Fantasy Picks
Love
Greg Ward had a big game last week against the Cardinals. He put up 4 catches for 15 yards and two touchdowns. He should become a favorite to Jalen Hurts and start seeing some real targets next week. He will be a big part of the offense for the next week. Considering also the Cowboys allow the second-most points to wide receivers per game in fantasy football, he should have a successful day. He has projected for 8.1 points but has a high ceiling in this one.
Hate
Ezekiel Elliot might return this week after having to miss last week with a calf injury. However, after seeing Pollard’s big game in his place, I am assuming Mike McCarthy will want to use both of them against the Eagles. The Eagles have a tough rushing defense too that could put a stop in Zeke’s track. They allow the twelfth least amount of points to running backs this season in fantasy and are better at containing the run than the pass. Zeke has projected still 10.75 points, but he is not too reliable.
