Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks Matchup Preview (9/27/20): Betting Odds, Depth Charts, Live Stream (Watch Online)

The 4 PM slate of games this week is filled with potentially high scoring games and this is one of them. The over/under is at 55.5 points and we get a quarterback battle between Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson. Seattle is coming off a big win against New England and will have another tough home matchup. Dallas is coming off a big-time comeback against the Falcons but this will be a tougher task if they get off to a slow start again. Oddsmakers are looking at Seattle as the favorites here and this makes sense given there are already MVP talks heating up for Russell Wilson. With all the injuries throughout the league, neither team has been unscathed. Seattle lost Bruce Irvin, while Dallas lost Blake Jarwin. However, things could be far worse especially when looking at the depth charts within their own division. Dallas Cowboys Analysis

Dallas CowboysIt has been an action-packed start to the Cowboys season so far as they had a tight game against the Rams and then a three-possession come back over the Atlanta Falcons. Dallas is scoring 28.5 points per game this season so far, and that is only good for 8th in the league because offenses have been off the charts to start the season. Defensively the Cowboys have struggled, and while they are facing strong offenses, it doesn’t get easier this week. The shootout is projected and Dak Prescott with the help of his top receiving core is going to need to match Russell Wilson. Prescott is completing 68.6% of his passes so far this season and has over 700 yards through the air with two touchdowns. He also has three rushing touchdowns. Cooper leads the team in targets, but rookie CeeDee Lamb follows him with 15 targets through two games. Dalton Schultz has 14, and Ezekiel Elliott has 11. Now the odd man out has been Michael Gallup so far and this comes with simply having so many options.

Ezekiel Eliott has been fed the rock with 44 attempts and nine receptions through two games. These have been in games where Dallas has to be able to jump out to a league so this is encouraging for those looking for those fantasy points. Defensively the Cowboys are a mess and have allowed over 500 yards to Jared Goff and Matt Ryan. It doesn’t get easier. They have done a good job on the ground, holding opposing backs to 3.6 yards per carry. Dallas will face some lesser offenses during the course of the season, but not many.

Seattle Seahawks Analysis

Seattle SeahawksThrough two games, Seattle has scored 36.5 points per game, but have allowed 27.5. This is on par with a few teams that have been crushing on offense but the defensive numbers are lacking. Seattle is 2-0 and are coming off a close win against New England. The Seahawks will face another strong offense as they will face Miami and Minnesota after this week. The Twitter world has been screaming for Seattle to free Russell Wilson, and he unleashed in the first game but then the run game got heavy again in Week 2. Wilson is on fire right now, completing 82% of his passes and has 610 passing yards and nine touchdowns. He is averaging 9.7 yards per attempt and this receiving duo is also a big reason why the Seahawks are having a ton of production through the air. Both Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf are up over 150 yards and have three touchdowns between them. Chris Carson is next in line with nine targets, catching all of them for 81 yards and three scores.

We haven’t seen the run game get going much as Carlos Hyde has a 12-45-1 line through two games and Carson is at 23-93-0. However, Carson has done his damage through the air. Hyde has done this for the last few seasons while Carson coming off that hip injury might need some time to get going. It will be interesting to follow them over the next two weeks where the games should be in Seattle’s control. The defense is struggling to get pressure on the quarterback, and Jamal Adams is actually the leading pass-rusher on the team right now. This is going to be a problem if nothing changes as the quarterbacks in this division will light it up in a clean pocket. The same goes for Prescott this week. This will be fun one to watch as two quarterbacks battle it out through the air.

Betting Corner: Seahawks -4.5

Spread: SEA -4.5
Moneyline: SEA -200 / DAL +170
Over/Under: 55.5

Seattle comes in with the same spread as last week, this time facing the Cowboys. Seattle is 2-0 ATS this season and Dallas is 0-2. Public money is very split on this spread as 52% of the money is on Seattle covering. The over is more favorable with the public, and that isn’t a surprise given both of these teams putting up monster points to start the season. The Seahawks are 2-1 in their last three games against the Cowboys and are 3-0. The under is 2-1, yet offenses are built a bit differently from before. Dallas has not been a great team against the spread, as they are just 2-5 over the last seven games. The over has been favorable in four of the last six. Seattle is 6-0 ATS in their last six games against NFC East teams.

Daily Fantasy Picks

Russell WilsonWhere to begin with this one? Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott are both premium options this week. I prefer Wilson slightly just obviously due to his play but the game stack potentials are alive and well. The wide receivers are not badly priced in this on either side and both secondaries are exploitable. DK Metcalf is on another level right now. Both him and Tyler Lockett get a secondary that has struggled in back-to-back games allowing big fantasy points to wide receivers.

The same goes for the opposite side of this one and while the offenses have been great that each tame has faced, these two are in that conversation. CeeDee Lamb has taken a major step up and has been involved right away as expected. Michael Gallup has taken a slight step backward in production because of that. Amari Cooper is also at a bargain price for the matchup even in that mid-range. I don’t have much interest in the running backs on each of these teams.
