Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Clippers: Prediction, Starting Lineups, Odds (1/10/23)

The Dallas Mavericks visit the Los Angeles Clippers in a big time Western Conference matchup. The Mavericks are coming off a loss to the Thunder on the road, while the Clippers are reeling right now with six straight losses, with the latest coming to the Hawks. This should be an interesting matchup because these are two good teams in the Western Conference. Let’s take a look at the odds and make some picks and predictions!

Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angles Clippers Betting Odds

The Dallas Mavericks are 1.5-point road favorites against the Los Angeles Clippers and are -120 on the money line. The over/under is also at 223. The Mavericks being slight favorites on the road here makes sense because they’ve been playing better than the Clippers especially with Clippers on a losing streak. The over/under also makes sense because both teams are excellent on offense. This spread should stay where it’s at before tip-off.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angles Clippers Prediction

The pick: Los Angeles Clippers +1.5

The Dallas Mavericks have been very good this year. They’ve been great on the offensive side of the ball mainly. They also have the best player in the NBA this year in Luka Doncic. He leads the entire NBA in points per game at 34 and also leads the Mavericks in rebounds, assists, and steals per game. Christian Wood has been great since coming to Dallas too and is right behind Doncic in scoring and rebounding. Spencer Dinwiddie and Tim Hardaway Jr. have also been very good for the Mavericks too as help for Doncic this year. They both are right behind Doncic and Wood in scoring. As a team, they are very good defensively, holding teams to 111 points a game. They are also very good offensively and have a high field goal percentage and point differential in each game. On the other side, the Clippers have not lived up to expectations so far this year. Kawhi Leonard will need to step up a lot in this game with Paul George being out. He’s the best player available for the Clippers, but he’s been in and out of the lineup due to different injuries. Norman Powell, Marcus Morris Sr., and even John Wall are in line to step up here too without Paul George. Wall has found a second life for the Clippers and leads them in assists. As a team, the Clippers are 4th in the NBA in points allowed on defense at 110 and are 9th in rebounds per game at 44. The Mavericks have been very good this year, but this is a prime spot for the Clippers to rebound after a long skid. Look for the Clippers’ defense to be the difference and get a big win at home against Dallas.

Betting Trends

Mavericks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss.

Clippers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record.
