Denver Nuggets at Houston Rockets Preview
Tonight, two of the hottest teams in Western Conference collide as the Denver Nuggets (50-23) will look to stay hot against James Harden and the Houston Rockets (47-28). Denver has been rolling as of late winning eight of their last 10 games and will be looking to stay hot at Toyota Center after sneaking past the Detroit Pistons in a 95-92 home win on Tuesday. With the victory, Denver improved to 50-23 on the season and are currently second in the Western Conference standings.
Meanwhile, Houston has also been rolling winning 14 of their last 17 games. But unlike Denver, they will be looking to bounce back after falling to the league-leading Bucks in a 108-94 road loss on Tuesday. Houston fell to 47-28 on the season with the loss as currently sit 4th in the Western Conference standings being only a half-game behind 3rd seeded Portland.
Houston leads the series by 2-1 on the season but Denver won the most recent meeting 136-122 back on Feb 1. It’s also important to note that all three meetings have been decided by a score of double-digit margins. Houston will also be giving their home fans “Vote for Harden” t-shirts during tonight’s game to aid Harden’s renewed quest for the MVP award.

Denver Nuggets Starting Lineup
In Denver’s victory over Detroit, Jamal Murray led the team in scoring with 33 points and five assists. Nikola Jokic also added 23 points and 15 rebounds while Paul Millsap was able to chip in 10 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists. As a team, Denver shot 42 percent from the field and went seven of 27 from the 3-point line. However, It was a tale of two halves for the Denver.
They set the tone early with their defense in the first half and outscored Detroit by 66-39. Only to let their guard down in the second half which made Denver have to fight back in the fourth quarter. For a second It looked like Detroit could pull off the comeback win, but Murray came through with six points in the final minute of regulation to secure a Denver victory.
Houston Rockets Starting Lineup
The Rockets have been hot winning 14 of their last 17 games, but with Tuesday’s loss to the Bucks, they fell behind the Los Angeles Clippers for the best record since the All-Star break. James Harden led the team scoring with 23 points, while also collecting 10 rebounds and seven assists. Chris Paul also added 19 points with nine rebounds and four assists while Clint Capela chipped in 17 points with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
As a team, Houston shot just 36 percent from the field and were 16 of 52 from the 3-point line. They took an early lead in the game before Milwaukee took control of the game in the second and third quarters. They outscored Houston by a combined 70-46 in those quarters, allowing them to cruise to an early victory.
Eric Gordon is dealing with a sprained right ankle but is probable for tonight, while Gerald Green (strained adductor) and center Kenneth Faried (sore knee) will both be out.
