Pistons Analysis

Detroit PistonsThe Pistons lost their third straight game Monday night when they fell 115-100 to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Pistons were missing several key players such as Blake Griffin, Tony Snell, Derrick Rose, and Luke Kennard. Detroit was led by Andre Drummond who finished with 15 points and eight rebounds and Reggie Jackson who scored a team-high 16 points.

The Pistons are still very much alive in the race for the eighth seed in Eastern Conference but as the injuries mount up it becomes harder to see them making it.

Detroit has already lost Griffin for the season and Luke Kennard is not expected back till after the All-Star break. If the Pistons are serious about a playoff push then a win over the team currently occupying the eighth spot would be a big step.

Nets Analysis

Brooklyn NetsThe Nets come into Wednesday’s game as the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference but their play lately has become concerning.

The Nets fell to the New York Knicks on Sunday 110-97. It was their sixth loss in seven games with the only win coming against Wednesday’s opponent the Detroit Pistons.

The Nets were without Kyrie Irving who did not play after learning of the death of Kobe Bryant.

Irving is expected back for Wednesday’s game and the Nets need him as they are only two games up on the Chicago Bulls for the final playoff spot.

On Saturday Irving had 45 points against the Pistons on 15-30 shooting. The game went to overtime as both teams were tied at 106 but the Nets would dominate the extra period, outscoring Detroit 15-5. Irving was one of five Nets players to score in double-figures.

Key Player Matchups

Kyrie Irving vs. Reggie Jackson

Kyrie Irving sat out Sunday’s game due to the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant so with it being his first game since Sunday it wouldn’t be surprising to see him go all out. Irving has had some impressive scoring performances including the 45 points he had Saturday vs Detroit.

Look for a vintage Kyrie Irving performance as he looks to honor Kobe’s legacy.

Spencer Dinwiddie vs. Derrick Rose

Wednesday’s game features two guards who are averaging over 18 points per game despite coming off of the bench. Both Rose and Dinwiddie have been outstanding for their respective teams this season whether they come off the bench or start.

When they last played on Saturday Rose had 27 points while Dinwiddie finished with 10.

Daily Fantasy

The top two options for daily fantasy are Kyrie Irving and Andre Drummond. Irving is projected at 41.2 points while costing $9.3k.

Drummond is projected to score 43.6 points and he is available for $10.2k. If looking for a cheaper option consider Rose who is projected to score 33.3 points while only costing $7.5k.
