Detroit Pistons vs. Milwaukee Bucks Preview
The Portland Trail Blazers hope to extend their winning streak to three games Saturday night when they host the Detroit Pistons in an interconference matchup. Detroit has been in great form winning eight of their last 11 games and look to stay hot after beating Phoenix in a 118-98 road win on Thursday. With the easy win, Detroit improved to 37-34 overall which is currently good for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Meanwhile, Portland has been on a nice run lately as well winning five of their last six games and is coming off a 126-118 home win against Dallas on Wednesday. In that game The Trail Blazers shot lights out from the floor finishing with a combined 49.5 field goal percentage, including going 16-of-35 from 3-pointer. They also beat Dallas on the boards by a healthy plus-10 margin. With the win, Portland improved to 44-27 overall and 27-9 at home which is good for fourth place in the Western Conference standings. Their second leading scorer CJ McCollum remains out with a knee injury.
These two teams play again next Saturday in Detroit. The Blazers have won five of six and sit fourth in the West. The Pistons are sixth in the East.

After getting upset by the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Pistons were able to rebound quickly and take down the Phoenix Suns Thursday night. Wayne Ellington led with 23 points on seven of 11 shooting, while Blake Griffin added 17 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Luke Kennard and Andre Drummond also came through contributing 16 points each. Shooting wise, Detroit was a solid 42 percent from the field and 17 of 42 from behind the arc. The Suns were able to keep up with Detroit in the first half, but the Pistons ramped up their defense and held Phoenix to just 38 points in the second half. With the easy win, Detroit improved to 37-34 overall and 14-21 on the road which is currently good for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Detroit has seen a boost in energy since the return of Blake Griffin, who the team opted to rest against Cleveland. All season long they have been one of the better defensive teams in the league and have been especially difficult to stop when their offense is clicking. They were plus-18 on the boards and knocked down a total of 17 3-pointers.

When the Blazers faced off against the Mavericks on Wednesday, Dallas played like a team headed for the playoffs instead of one tanking for Zion. They showed plenty of pride on the floor for the Dallas and challenged a way more talented Portland team at home. Fortunately, the Blazers were up to the challenge and matched the Mavericks’ intensity.
