FanDuel Sportsbook Announces Partnership With Carolina Panthers One Week Ahead of Sports Betting Launch

FanDuel sportsbook is partnering with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers to become the team’s primary sports betting partner in North Carolina. The news comes just one week ahead of the launch of NC sports betting on March 11.

FanDuel Looks to Make Splash in North Carolina

FanDuel is one of eight operators set to go live in North Carolina on March 11, along with DraftKings, Bet365, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, ESPN Bet, and Underdog.

To gain licensure in the Tar Heel state, operators must partner with a local sports venue or team — such as the Charlotte Hornets, Carolina Panthers, PGA Tour, etc.

After initially gaining access to the North Carolina market via a partnership with the PGA tour, FanDuel seized an opportunity to strike a deal with the local team that has the most marketing reach in the Carolina Panthers.

“Bringing FanDuel to sports fans across North Carolina is an important moment for our business, and we are thrilled to be able to work with the Carolina Panthers to introduce their fanbase to America’s #1 Sportsbook,” said Mike Raffensperger, Chief Commercial Officer of FanDuel in a press release. “We look forward to supporting the team next season and to engaging the passionate sports fans across North Carolina with our product.”

As the ninth most populous state in the U.S. — and the sixth most populous to launch online sports betting — North Carolina has been top of mind for sports betting operators like FanDuel since the state signed HB 347 on June 14, 2023, legalizing sports betting in the state.

For the Carolina Panthers, a partnership with FanDuel means an opportunity for them to grow their relationship with their fans — both inside Bank of America stadium and outside the stadium in the greater Charlotte area..

“We are thrilled to welcome FanDuel as an Official Sports Betting Partner,” said Kristi Coleman, Carolina Panthers president in a press release. “As we look ahead to the 2024 season, we’re excited about the opportunities this partnership presents to deliver unique and engaging experiences to our fans while they are in North Carolina.”

Kay Adams to Broadcast Live From Bank of America Stadium

To kick off the partnership, FanDuel TV’s flagship program “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams will host a show from Bank of America stadium on Wednesday Mar. 6.

Carolina Panthers legend Luke Kheukly will be there along with other members of the Panthers organization.

There hasn’t been any reporting on whether or not FanDuel plans to build a retail sportsbook at Bank of America stadium. That said, if FanDuel’s involvement with other retail venues such as the United Center in Chicago or the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey are any indication of their plans at Bank of America Stadium, there is reason to believe that a retail sportsbook may be in the cards.

North Carolina Sports Betting Pre-Registration Period

Though FanDuel will not begin accepting wagers in North Carolina until Mar. 11, individuals across the Tar Heel state can download their mobile app today during the state’s pre-registration period.

The pre-registration period is a ten day window during which sportsbooks apps are available for downloads ahead of the formal launch of sports betting on Mar. 11. Individuals who sign up during this period can claim additional bonuses with FanDuel.
