Florida State vs NC State Betting Odds & Predictions (10/8/22)

Florida State is coming off a disappointing loss to Wake Forest this past week, while NC State is also coming off a loss to Clemson. These two teams are some of the best in the ACC, and it should be an interesting matchup. Let’s take a look at the odds and make some picks and predictions for this game!

Florida State vs. NC State Odds

NC State is a 3.5-point home favorite against Florida State, and is also at -165 on the money line. The over/under sits at 52 in this game too. NC State being favored here makes sense because they looked better in their loss against Clemson than Florida State did in theirs to Wake Forest. NC State is also playing at home which helps too. The over/under being at 52 makes sense too because the NC State has a great defense, and a very good offense to go against Florida State’s offense which is very good too. This spread also has a chance to go up higher in favor of NC State.

Florida State vs. NC State Prediction

The Pick: NC State -3.5

The Wolfpack still looked impressive enough in their loss to Clemson because they hung around till the very end. NC State is one of the most experienced teams in the whole country, so they are more than equipped to recover from a loss like this. The key is Devin Leary on offense, who’s been more than solid at the quarterback position for NC State. He’s been great, even though the offense has been a bit inconsistent at times this year. The coaching staff seems to be more to blame for that. The NC State defense is their biggest strength. The defense has held teams to an average of 15 points and 280 total yards a game too. The linebackers are among the best unit in the country too.

Florida State has had a great resurgence this year, and it’s been mainly because of how good the offense has been with Jordan Travis leading the way at quarterback. However, last week was the first sign of how to beat the Seminoles. Travis does everything for them, and in some ways is asked to do too much for them. The defense for NC State should be able to contain Travis enough, and Leary will be able to do enough on offense for NC State to win and cover this small of a spread. The home-field should also be a big factor here too for the Wolfpack.

Florida State vs. NC State Key Matchups

Can Jordan Travis do enough against this NC State defense? How will the Florida State defense hold up against Devin Leary?

He’s thrown for 1,226 yards, while also having eight passing touchdowns and one interception. he also has a 66% completion percentage on the year so far. His best game up to this point was against Louisville where he threw for 321 yards. He’s going up against a very good defense in NC State. The Wolfpack are only giving up 186 passing yards up to this point in the year. Travis will need to be very good against this stellar defense for the Seminoles to have any chance in this game.

Devin Leary vs the Florida State Passing Defense

Devin Leary had a breakout year last year as a sophomore, and has been very good so far this year too. He has thrown for 1,135 yards and has 10 passing touchdowns and three interceptions on the year.
