Golden State Warriors vs. Denver Nuggets Matchup Preview (3/10/22)
For the second time this week, the Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets will face off in a showdown between two playoff-caliber squads. Much like the game on Monday, this bout will also be played in the Mile High City at Ball Arena. In that game, Denver was able to squeak out a 131-124 victory over the Warriors behind a massive Jokic triple-double. The Warriors have struggled quite a bit without Draymond in the lineup, and Jokic’s interior dominance reflects clearly.
Meanwhile, Denver is merely weeks away from returning Michael Porter Jr to the lineup and then, eventually, Jamal Murray after that! Once that happens, Denver could become a troublesome “out” in the playoffs, even for teams like the Phoenix Suns or Golden State Warriors. Denver can use every win it can get in the meantime to try and climb to fourth or fifth place in the Western Conference before the playoffs start. Check out my analysis for this game throughout the article, and my future predictions for these two teams come playoff time!
Golden State Warriors vs. Denver Nuggets Betting Odds
The Nuggets have been great at home, winning five of their past six in Ball Arena, including one earlier this week against the Warriors by seven points. Denver probably squeezes this one out, but I will be more interested in the point total. In the game on Monday, the final score was 131-124 for a point total of 255. I could definitely see another point total between 230-240, so if the line comes out around 220-225 then I will pull the trigger.

Golden State Warriors Analysis
There should be a website specifically based on whether Draymond Green is healthy and playing for the Warriors. Warriors fans, and even non-Warriors fans, would be checking it every single day. Golden State made a small step in the right direction with a 112-97 win on Tuesday night over the Los Angeles Clippers. It should come as no surprise that the Clippers are not a stable offensive team, but it is promising to see that the Warriors were able to secure an early double-digit lead and maintain it throughout the whole game. Los Angeles has been playing incredible defense recently, so hanging 112 points on the Clippers is pretty impressive. Golden State will need to force guys other than Nikola Jokic to hit shots, though.

Denver Nuggets Analysis
At the beginning of the year, I said that if the Nuggets could hang around in playoff contention and return Jamal Murray before the playoffs, they had a real shot at the Western Conference Finals. Right now, they are in sixth place in the Western Conference, but only one and a half games out of fourth. There is optimism around the Nuggets’ organization that Murray will be back before the playoffs and Michael Porter Jr’s return will be even sooner. It is no surprise that this team will not be a defensive-minded team when that point comes; however, they are middle-of-the-road in most key statistical categories except for opponent 3P% (three-point percentage), where they rank fifth. If they keep that up, tighten up a few weaker areas, like opponent eFG%, and return Porter and Murray, then anything can happen.
Golden State Warriors vs. Denver Nuggets Daily Fantasy Picks
If you are insistent on plugging in a Warriors player for your DFS lineup during this slate, then I would recommend either Jordan Poole or Jonathan Kuminga. Both of those players have been putting up some strong stat lines in recent games, especially Poole, who has averaged nearly 25 points per game in his past four. Additionally, Poole has contributed in other ways, grabbing close to three rebounds and dishing out roughly four assists during that span. Although Klay Thompson is back and Poole is coming off the bench, he is still producing huge numbers on a team that has the two greatest shooters of all time on it. Meanwhile, Kuminga is putting together an impressive three-game streak, averaging over 18 points and five rebounds. However, what was most impressive was his six-assist game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night. If he continues to improve his passing, Kuminga could become a consistent threat for the Warriors and your DFS lineup.
It will be quite difficult for me to recommend anyone on the Denver Nuggets besides Nikola Jokic, no matter how many times I have discussed him in these articles. Jokic could very well be on his way to a second-straight MVP award and currently has the highest PER (player efficiency rating) of any player in the history of the NBA. Jokic has been even better recently, including a game against the New Orleans Pelicans where he single-handedly put the Nuggets on his back to overcome a ten-point deficit entering the fourth quarter. The game went into overtime, and in the fourth quarter and overtime, Jokic scored 30 points. What a clinic that was. By the end of the game, Jokic had 46 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists for yet another triple-double in his young career. The following game, this one against the Golden State Warriors, Jokic posted 32 points, 15 rebounds, and 13 assists for his second straight triple-double. There are few players better to utilize in DFS than Jokic, especially with how he has been playing. Just ensure that you surround Jokic with a solid enough lineup in DFS to compete with lineups that can spread their budget around a bit more evenly.
