Find our through our Charlotte Hornets vs. Portland Trail Blazers prediction, betting picks, and in-depth analysis below!

Charlotte Hornets Vs. Portland Trail Blazers Prediction

The Charlotte Hornets ran into a buzzsaw in the form of the Golden State Warriors on Friday night, losing by 13 points and snapping their four-game winning streak that raised quite a few eyebrows.

Still, this game had some positives, with the most obvious being that the Hornets held the Dubs to merely 97 points, their lowest-scoring output of the entire 2023-24 campaign thus far. That’s right, the LaMelo Ball and Mark Williams-less Charlotte Hornets held the Golden State Warriors to their lowest point total of the whole season. And it was on Golden State’s home floor!

While we saw a lot of negative offensive regression, which was to be expected (the Hornets weren’t suddenly going to drop 110-120 points every game), the Hornets still competed defensively. That could come in handy against this Blazers squad that is missing nearly a handful of key players, including Shaedon Sharpe, Malcolm Brogdon, Scoot Henderson, and Robert Williams III.

Portland has gotten drubbed in five consecutive home games, while the Hornets have actually shown some life recently. This is not a game to overthink; take the points with Charlotte.

Charlotte Hornets Vs. Portland Trail Blazers Prediction: Charlotte Hornets +3.5 (-115)

Charlotte Hornets Vs. Portland Trail Blazers Injuries

Davis Bertans (knee) joins LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Mark Williams (back) on the Charlotte Hornets’ injury report for Sunday’s game against Portland. Bertans hyperextended his knee in a recent game against the Utah Jazz. Ball and Williams could be back at some point in March, but it is still to be seen whether the Hornets actually bring them back this late in the season, with re-injury risk on the table.

The Portland Trail Blazers also have significant injuries to key players, including Malcolm Brogdon, Scoot Henderson, Robert Williams III, Shaedon Sharpe, Moses Brown, and Rayan Rupert. All of the aforementioned players have been listed as out for this matchup against Charlotte.
