Indiana Pacers vs Miami Heat 8/10/20: Starting Lineups, Matchup Preview, Betting Odds

Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat Matchup Preview

The Pacers-Heat game doesn’t mean as much given the home court factor isn’t applied to this season. As the Heat are 43-27 with the four seed and the Paces have the same record and are in fifth. Now many are also going to be tuning into this game for the TJ Warren and Jimmy Butler battle. They have been barking at each other dating back to before the restart, however, Warren and Butler are both listed as questionable. Both teams have battled the injury report since coming back and it is a little full today. Butler and Goran Dragic are listed as questionable but have also been deemed expected to play. Warren is listed as questionable and this is after finally getting Malcolm Brogdon and Victor Oladipo back in full health. Kendrick Nunn is the name out for sure and the starting lineup will likely see Tyler Herro come into it, with Dragic still playing bigger minutes off the bench. This should be a tight game to watch.

SF: Victor Oladipo
PF: T.J. Warren
C: Myles Turner

Pacers  Analysis

Indiana PacersIndiana has been dealing with the absence of Domantas Sabonis and that will be the case for the rest of the season and playoffs. T.J. Warren has taken the league by storm, scoring 39, 16, 32, 34, and 53 points since the break. He has not plyed great in the two meetings against the Heat, but we can certainly throw that out. Overall he has averaged 19.9 points per game this season. With Sabonis off the court for Indiana this season, Myles Turner has seen a 5.4% usage increase and both Brogdon and Warren have seen over a 2% usage bump as well. Warren has seen the most field goal increases out of anyone. Warren, Brogdon, and Oladipo all have a usage rate over 25% with Sabonis off the court. Indiana has scored 109 points per game this season and are 7-3 in their last ten games dating back to before the restart.

Heat Starting 5

PG: Tyler Herro
SG: Duncan Robinson
SF: Jimmy Butler
PF: Jae Crowder
C: Bam Adebayo

Heat Analysis

Miami HeatThe Heat have gone through some different lineups over the last few games due to injuries. Goran Dragic and Jimmy Butler are expected back tonight, which is great news for Miami. Dragic has been excellent during the restart and has revived himself for the 2019-20 season as the 6th man off the bench. Butler of course is the go-to guy, but seemingly makes others better around him. Kendrick Nunn will be out tonight and Tyler Herro started in his place last game, but Dragic was out. We generally see teams like to keep units together so I expect Herro to start again. There isn’t a huge shift in usage but Butler actually see a 3% jump in usage with Nunn of the court. Butler leads this team in assist and points this season, while Adebayo leads in rebounds. He will have an easier time with Sabonis out, who was averaging 12.4 rebounds on his own.

Pacers vs Heat Fantasy Basketball Angle

bam adebayoThis isn’t exacly a game that screams fantasy potential and if we don’t have an up to minute injury report before the slate starts you should be able to get some lower ownership on these names. Malcolm Brogdon is coing off back to back 40+ fantasy point games and has three since he has been back. This is all with him battling a neck injury as well. In GPPs you can make the case for him. Tyler Herro and Goran Dragic will make up the point guard duties with Nunn out. Dragic has been playing well and is still cheap on both sites. Victor Oladipo is in the same boat and has played 32, 27, 31, and 35 minutes since returning from injury. Jimmy Butler is due back tonight and has averaged 37 fantasy points in the two meetings against the Pacers. Bam Adebayo is the big I have the most interest in from the two sides. He has averaged 18-12-5 in the two meetings.

Pacers vs Heat Betting Odds

Pacers Odds: +115

Heat Odds: -138

Over/Under: 220

Spread: MIA -2.5

Miami has won two of the three games so far this season by an average of two points. Injuries have been involved in each of the games so far this season and that is the case again for tonight. It is hard to look at historical data in general but even more so for this one. With Butler and Dragic expected to play, the question is are they at full health? As we dive into the final few games we have seen some rotations that are not favorable for gambling or fantasy basketball. The lines were a bit delayed, waiting on the injury new.
