Week 7 around the NFL begins with a Thursday night matchup between AFC South and NFC South contenders as the Saints host the Jaguars. Here’s a look at a same game parlay featuring analysis of Alvin Kamara and Travis Etienne player props as well as game odds for Thursday Night Football.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints Same Game Parlay Picks
The Saints are slight home favorites over the Jaguars on Thursday, entering favored by a point. New Orleans is -120 on the moneyline, and the over/under for this game is 39.5 points. This Thursday night parlay is crafted using FanDuel, so different sportsbooks will offer different odds.
Leg 1: First Half Under 19.5 Points (+100)
Week 6 was won by the defenses, with some help from bad offenses. Throughout the NFL, offense is at its lowest mark all-around in 15 years. The Saints are part of that problem. They only have eight offensive touchdowns through six games and have been the victims of slow starts in a few games, including their win over the Panthers and recent losses to the Buccaneers and Saints.
With New Orleans struggling so much in the red zone – something Derek Carr has dealt with for much of his career – the first half under is attractive here. The Saints’ defense has been good enough, particularly when it comes to limiting rushing touchdowns, that Travis Etienne and the Jaguars offense aren’t a safe bet to get off to a hot start, either.
Leg 2: Alvin Kamara Over 50.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
The Jaguars have a strong run defense, allowing just 3.6 yards per carry, but Alvin Kamara needs just 15 carries to hit the over if he averages that mark. After getting 22 and 19 carries in his last two games, respectively, 51+ yards for Kamara is clearly possible.
The veteran has become more involved in the Saints’ offense since returning to action in Week 4, and it’s hard to imagine the Saints will be forced to play catch-up and pass the ball all night considering how strong their defense is. After Carr’s struggles in the red zone, it also might behoove the Saints to try running the ball some more at the end of drives. Efficient or not, a 51-yard rushing performance is very much in play for Kamara given his usage.
Leg 3: Travis Etienne Anytime TD Scorer (+120)
The Saints have done very well limiting rushing touchdowns this season, but the Jaguars have used Travis Etienne in the red zone often enough lately that +120 is a nice value on the Clemson product to find the end zone.
Trevor Lawrence handed off 10 times inside the Colts’ 40-yard line in Week 6, and all 10 carries went to Etienne. That should ward off concerns about Tank Bigsby vulturing a touchdown.
Etienne has four touchdowns across his last two games, both wins, and there is no reason for the Jaguars to get away from what works early in Thursday’s game – particularly with Trevor Lawrence potentially playing through a knee injury.
