Sacramento Kings vs. Golden State Warriors Player Prop Picks
On Thursday, the NBA’s Rivals Week continues as the Kings travel to the Bay Area to take on the Warriors. The current season series is tied 1-1 between these teams, and both teams will be motivated to pull ahead. Steph Curry Over 5.5 Assists (-110 DraftKings)
In recent games, Steph Curry’s passing has been a huge factor for the Warriors’ offense. He has 6+ assists in eight of his last ten games, averaging 6.5 assists per game over that stretch. That strong hit rate extends to 11 of his last 15 games (73%). Curry’s playmaking has been even more important for the Warriors lately with Chris Paul sidelined for up to six weeks with a fractured hand.
Draymond Green returned for his first game back from suspension on Wednesday, but he stayed on the bench. That’s significant as Green averages 5.7 assists per game, and he would take some playmaking duties away from Curry with the first unit. With a total set at 240.5 for this game, there should be plenty of offense for both teams, and I’ll bet on Curry’s playmaking ways continuing here in primetime.
Domantas Sabonis Under 8.5 Assists (-115 BetMGM)
While Sabonis has been playing at an all-star level, I believe there’s an opportunity to fade him on Thursday night. Sabonis has been over this assists mark in just one of his last 13 games against the Warriors, giving him a paltry 8% hit rate on this prop in this matchup. Overall this season, he’s been over this in just 16 of 42 games, good for a 38% hit rate.
The Warriors rank below average with just 26.1 total assists per game allowed this season, and there’s a strong chance we could see De’Aaron Fox have an uptick in assists in this game after just one last time out against the Hawks. Ultimately, this number is just set too high based on Sabonis’s hit rates and this presents a strong sell high line for the center.
Kevin Huerter Over 2.5 3-Pointers (+138 FanDuel)
While Kevin Huerter has only been over this prop in 10 of his 40 games this season (25%), he’s been heating up lately with 4.3 3-pointers per game over his last four games. That includes a game against the Pacers with 7 3-pointers. Huerter is shooting a career low 35.9% from 3 this season, so it’s good to see him getting back on track.
The Warriors have allowed 3.7 3-pointers per game to opposing shooting guards — the fifth-most in the NBA — and Huerter had four three-pointers his last time out against the Warriors. While you can find over 1.5 on this prop with some significant juice, I’d rather take the plus money and bet on Huerter’s hot hand continuing in a plus matchup.
