Los Angeles Lakers vs. Los Angeles Clippers Player Prop Picks

Our favorite Los Angeles Lakers vs. Los Angeles Clippers player prop picks include Anthony Davis recording six or more assists at +215 odds and Paul George turning the ball over two or more times at -130 odds.

Anthony Davis Alt Over 5.5 Assists (+215)

If you are stuck looking at Anthony Davis’ past assist results against the Clippers throughout his career, you’d be utterly convinced that he would go under this line (and his non-alt line, too.)

However, the Los Angeles Lakers have changed their offensive approach in recent games, running a lot of action through Anthony Davis. And Davis has been consistently making the correct reads, finding teammates in great scoring position, whether a catch-and-shoot opportunity or on a dive to the rim. In fact, Davis has recorded six or more assists in three of his past five games and nearly hit a fourth one (he had five assists) against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Without LeBron James for this game against the Clippers, there isn’t going to be a whole lot of change except that Davis’ usage rate will increase. In four games this season where James was sidelined, Davis’ usage rate jumped from 26.6% to 30.4%; we can expect that to happen again in a cross-town rivalry game that the Lakers will want to win, especially since they’ve gotten crushed in the past few seasons (2-11 record in their past 13 games against the Clippers.)

Further, with Ivica Zubac out, the Clippers will have to rely on Mason Plumlee as AD’s primary defender; they will undoubtedly send double-teams at Davis because they cannot afford to have Plumlee on an island in isolation all game long. Davis has been impressive in passing to open players out of double teams recently, and this Clippers team isn’t exactly known for their elite defense this season; they are more interested in shooting teams out of games with the offensive firepower that they possess.

Paul George Over 1.5 Turnovers (-130)

We don’t mind a little bit of juice for this prop, especially with the hit rate it has had when Paul George faces off against the Los Angeles Lakers. According to StatMuse, Paul George has recorded at least two turnovers in 14 consecutive games against the Lakers, including the two games they have played each other this season. And, no, that is not a typo.

George has been fantastic limiting turnovers recently, averaging only 1.9 in his past 12 games overall and going Over this line just six times, but it is hard to ignore the history in this spot.

A lot of PG13’s success in limiting turnovers can likely be attributed to fewer on-ball reps with James Harden running point and Russell Westbrook taking over the lead guard spot in bench minutes, but we still believe there is enough opportunity for him to throw an errant pass or get stripped.
