In 2021 Jose Abreu hit .261 with 30 home runs, 30 doubles, two triples, drove in 117 runs and accumulated 272 total bases.  Abreu, the 2020 American League MVP has gone over 100 runs batted in, six times in his career.  This season he has three doubles, two home runs, 22 total bases, six runs batted in with an OPS of .635.

Tim Anderson who won the American League batting title in 2019 is hitting .288 to begin the 2022 season.  He has four doubles, two home runs, 27 total bases with a .458 slugging percentage and an OPS of .769.  Third baseman Jake Burger is hitting .277 in his first 47 at-bats this season.  Burger has two doubles, two home runs, five runs batted in with an OPS of .738.

Luis Robert’s 2021 season was hampered by a right hip flexor tear, causing him to be out from May 3rdthrough August 9th.  From that point until the end of the year, Robert slashed .350/.389/.622 with 12 home runs, 13 doubles, 35 RBIs and 31 runs scored in 43 games.  In 2022, Robert has two doubles, two home runs, 17 total bases and a .609 OPS.  Andrew Vaughn leads the White Sox in batting average (.300), home runs (four), runs batted in (12), slugging percentage (.600) and OPS (.975).  The first-round pick in 2019 has 30 total bases and an OPS + of 189 in 2022.

Los Angeles Angels Vs. Chicago White Sox Picks & Prediction

Offensively, the Angels are averaging 5.01 runs per nine innings, third in the majors.  They are fifth in batting average at .253 with a team OPS of .762, first in the big leagues.  Los Angeles’s pitching staff is allowing 3.99 runs per nine innings, 15th in Major League Baseball.  Chicago is scoring 3.36 runs per game, 24th in the majors.  The White Sox are hitting .212 as a team, 24th in MLB with an OPS of .608 which is 26th in the big leagues.  Chicago’s pitching staff is allowing 4.67 runs per nine innings, 25th in the majors.  I’m going with the road underdog Angels to win this game by over 1.5 runs and the teams to combine for under nine runs.  Chicago’s offense has struggled throughout the season (due to injuries), while the Angels have been crushing the ball averaging 1.26 home runs per game which is third in the majors.
