This divisional matchup between two 3-1 teams should be a great one. Both teams are doing very well this season, and this matchup could very well affect the playoff race towards the end of the season. After an upset loss to the Buccaneers last Sunday, the Rams have another difficult matchup this week. Jared Goff did not play well last week, throwing 3 interceptions and fumbling on a potentially game-tying drive. It was a crushing loss for the Rams, and Goff will have to turn the ball over less for the Rams to win this game. Even though the Rams are favored to win, the Seahawks are a very strong team. It should be a close game, and either team has a good chance to win this game. For odds movement and full matchup history, visit the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks matchup page.

Los Angeles Rams Analysis

Los Angeles RamsFor the past three games, at least one Rams receiver has had over 100 receiving yards each game. Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods have each had one 100+ yard game, while Cooper Kupp has had 100+ receiving yards in three games. Kupp should have another big game against the Seahawks. Even though the Seahawks have only allowed one 100+ yards receiver this season (John Ross in week 1), Kupp will still perform well. I would not trust Cooks or Woods to have a good game this week because they have not been consistent. It is possible for them to do well, but it is unlikely considering how well the Seahawks pass defense has done against top receivers.

Todd Gurley has been a major disappointment for the Rams this season. He was one of the best running backs in the league last year, but has not had over 100 yards in a game yet. Against the Seahawks, Gurley will probably not reach 100 yards, as the Seahawks have not allowed a 100 yard running back this season.

The key to the Rams winning this game is Jared Goff playing well. He is a very accurate passer, but has not made the best decisions with the ball. Just this season, he has turned the ball over 9 times this season, which has made it more difficult for the Rams to win games. Against a good Seahawks defense, he will have to make better decisions to keep his team in the game.

Seattle Seahawks Analysis

Seattle SeahawksWith a quarter of the season over, the Seahawks are in a prime position to win the NFC West, even though the division is very competitive. Russell Wilson has played extremely well and the Seahawks defense has played well to propel the team to 3-1. Even as the favorites to win, they will have their hands full against this Rams team. Last week, the Rams allowed a lot of points on defense, but do not expect that to happen again this week. The Rams defense is very good and has stopped many other good offenses. The expected total score for this game is 49 points. That likely means that the Seahawks will not tear apart the Rams defense, but will do pretty well.

On offense, the Seahawks do not have one single playmaker they run their offense through. Chris Carson has had only one 100+ yard game and Tyler Lockett has had one 100+ yard game as well. These are the two top players for the Seahawks at running back and receiver, and neither of them has consistently carried the offense. Russell Wilson carries this offense to victory. He distributes the ball to a variety of receivers, which does not bode well for Lockett’s production. Against the Saints, the only opponent with a winning record, Russell Wilson played extremely well because he excels against difficult competition. Look for him to have a big game this week carrying the Seahawks offense.

Daily Fantasy: Russell Wilson Excels

Russell Wilson (DK: $6,200, FD: $7,600) is a great play at quarterback this week. Since he is facing a tough defense, he will likely have to make many plays himself, just like he did against the Saints two weeks ago. He could get close to the 41 fantasy points he put up against the Saints in this matchup, and has a relatively cheap salary. I also really like Cooper Kupp (DK: $6,500, FD: $6,800) for the Rams because of how consistent he has been for the past few weeks. He has had 100+ yards in the last 3 weeks and has averaged 12 targets per game in that span. Also, the Rams will likely have to pass the ball a lot against this stingy Seahawks defense, so Kupp will get a lot of looks this game. He is also a very good value pick on FanDuel. I do not like Brandin Cooks (DK: $5,300, FD: $6,900) or Robert Woods (DK: $5,400, FD: $7,300) as much as Kupp, but they are valued very low on DraftKings and could have big games.
