Miami Dolphins vs. Arizona Cardinals Matchup Preview (11/8/20): Betting Odds, Depth Charts, Live Stream (Watch Online)

Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins will travel to the desert this week to face the Arizona Cardinals. Both teams have improved greatly compared to last season and both teams have chances at making the playoffs this year. For the Cardinals, they will be without Kenyan Drake, as Chase Edmonds will fill in. Miami will be without Matt Breida and Myles Gaskin, leaving a few lackluster names to likely form a committee. Coming off a bye week, the Cardinals are four and a half point favorites. This was one of the spreads I liked early in the week and it hasn’t moved much despite the Dolphins starting a rookie in his second game and some injuries occurring in the backfield. Kyler Murray will certainly need to take care of the ball this week as turnovers have plagued him early on. Miami Dolphins Analysis

Miami DolphinsThings look a bit different in Miami right now as they are 1-0 in the Tua era but he hardly had to do much last week. He ended up completing 14 of 24 passes for 102 yards and a score. This game should set up a bit differently where the Cardinals I anticipate putting together a better performance than the Rams, which means Tua will have to push the pace a bit more. He will also not have a run game behind him as Myles Gaskin and Matt Breida are out this week. Gaskin has been solid not only on the ground but also in the passing game. We should see Jordan Howard, which isn’t a vote of confidence to the lineup. DeVante Parker has a 30-367-3 line through seven games and leads the Dolphins in receiving yards. Mike Gesicki is next in line with 289 and he should see a bigger role out of the slot with Isaiah Ford being traded to the Patriots. Preston Williams has a chance to smash this week with Patrick Peterson dealing with Parker for most of the game. Miami’s defense has been solid this season holding them to 14.4 points per game However, you can run the ball on them at 4.9 yards a pop, as they have focused on the pass defense. It might be a bit tough for them to slow down this unit though, especially if they can’t stop the run.

Arizona Cardinals Analysis

Arizona CardinalsArizona is putting up 29 points per game this season and doing a bulk of it on the ground. They are rushing for 160 yards per game, which is why I like the edge in this one for the Cardinals. Both Chase Edmonds and Kyler Murray give them a duo that can run all over this Miami defense. Arizona’s run defense has been putrid this season allowing 4.7 per attempt but the fact they are facing the Dolphins without Gaskin and Breida leaves just Jordan Howard. With no Kenyan Drake this season, Edmonds has rushed for 176 yards on 29 carries and that is good for 6.1 per attempt. He also has a 26-222-2 line as a receiver and has been that main threat out of the backfield in the passing game. Otherwise, DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk has been doing most of the damage. Hopkins is up over 700 receiving yards and has three touchdowns. Kirk has found his better form of late and has five receiving touchdowns on the season. The passing game will face a tougher defense, as Miami improved over the offseason and has shown it this year.

Betting Corner: ARI -4.5

Spread: ARI -4.5
Moneyline: MIA +185 / ARI -225
Over/Under: 48.5

While both teams have played well this season, I am a bit surprised to see Tua being handed just a few points here, when this could be closer to a touchdown spread. Both teams are 5-2 ATS this season and for Miami, most of that came with Ryan Fitzpatrick starting. The under has been favorable for both sides, combining for three wins. This has had a lot to do with some of the one-sided games or defensive battles that ended up sneaking up on bettors. Arizona is a better team suited to cover this week, fresh off a bye and not having a rookie quarterback making his second start.

Daily Fantasy Picks

The Cardinals are in a decent spot to put up some points this week, even with an improved Miami defense. Kyler Murray has been an average at best passer this season with turnovers and a poor adjusted yards. His rushing ability continues to make him a strong fantasy quarterback. His floor is solid for this week and he is among some of the top plays at the position. Chase Edmonds is going to be a popular back this week with Drake out. Edmonds has been fantastic on limited touches this season and now in a featured role against an average run defense, he will be solid. DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk are strong wide receiver plays in their price range. As for the Dolphins, they are very low on my list of options. I don’t have any fantasy interest for daily this week. If you are playing a 4PM only slate, DeVante Parker and Mike Gesicki are in play.
