Miami Heat at Philadelphia 76ers 2/21/19: Starting Lineups, Matchup Preview, Betting Odds
Miami Heat at Philadelphia 76ers Preview
The Miami Heat aren’t quite out of the playoff picture yet, but if they want to end Dwyane Wade’s NBA career with a playoff appearance, they have a lot of work to do beginning tonight as they are on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers. While Joel Embiid may be out, the Heat will still have their hands full with a talented 76ers lineup.
The 76ers start their post-All-Star break schedule after winning their last game and going 6-4 in their last 10. They are 37-21 and are fifth in the Eastern Conference. Miami is currently ninth in the East with a 26-30 record. They won their last game before the break and are 4-6 in their last 10 games.
In their last matchup on November 12, the 76ers took the 124-114 win as they were led by 35 points and 18 rebounds from Embiid. Goran Dragic, who has been injured a majority of the season, led the Heat that night with 22 points and five assists.

Heat Analysis
The Miami Heat have been very inconsistent all season and they really have not had one group of players that have been there to carry the team on a nightly basis. Most of the burden has gone on Josh Richardson’s back and he’s delivered with a career season in Miami, averaging 17.6 points, 3.9 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game.
The loss of Goran Dragic has hurt the team and taken away a scoring threat and the Heat’s main ball-handler and distributor. It looked early on like Rodney McGruder would be a solid stop gap there, but he has faded after a strong start, and the Heat trading away Tyler Johnson may make sense from a financial standpoint, but he was yet another scoring threat that could play both guard positions.
In their last game, a 112-101 win over the Dallas Mavericks, it took Dwyane Wade coming off the bench to score 22 points in 22 minutes for the Heat to secure a win. Dion Waiters returning should help on offense.
Although Dragic has been cleared, he is still questionable for tonight. Having those two pieces back should help the Heat as they try to make a run for the playoffs.

76ers Analysis
The Philadelphia 76ers ended their pre-All-Star break schedule with a 126-111 win over the New York Knicks. Tobias Harris had one of his better games as a member of the 76ers, finishing with 25 points and six rebounds, but he’s still getting adjusted to his new team and teammates.
But coach Brett Brown seems excited about the direction his team is headed in.
“I’ve been with this group for such a tiny amount of time. I’m excited to move the group forward,” Brown said recently. “This is the period of the season that interests me the most. My enthusiasm is pointed north.”
All five members of the 76ers new starting lineup scored in double figures against the Knicks, and Boban Marjanovic, who should get some extended playing time tonight, had 10 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Philadelphia has been going 10 deep with all of the changes to their roster, and if Mike Scott, Jonathon Simmons, and James Ennis transition quickly, the 76ers could have one of the scarier 10-man rotations in the league
