Miami Heat at LA Clippers Preview
For the second and final time this season, the Miami Heat and LA Clippers will play in an intraconference matchup.
The Miami Heat come into Wednesday’s game after dominating the Philadelphia 76ers 137-106 on Monday night. The win improved the Heat to 34-15 overall and they are now tied with the Boston Celtics for third in the Eastern Conference.
The LA Clippers were also victorious Monday night as they came back from 15 down to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 108-105. The Clippers are now in sole possession of the second place in the Western Conference with a 35-15 record.
In the first meeting, the Clippers handed the Heat their second home loss of the season when they won 122-117 back on January 24.

Heat Analysis
The Miami Heat looked every bit of an NBA Finals contender Monday night when they destroyed the 76ers by 31. The Heat outscored the 76ers by 27 in the second half turning a four-point halftime lead into a 31 point blowout.
Miami was led by Jimmy Butler who finished with 38 points and seven rebounds while sitting out the entire fourth quarter. Butler shot 14-20 from the field and 8-8 from the free-throw line.
Miami also got big games from Goran Dragic, Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson, and Derrick Jones Jr. Dragic had 24 points, Adebayo had 18-11-8, Robinson finished with 19 points, and Jones had 18.
The win gave the Heat the season series over the 76ers as they won three of the four meetings. Jimmy Butler said it best when describing what matters to him “I’m only worried about winning.”
Miami has won two straight games and seven of their last 10.
The Heat come into Wednesday’s game with the No. 6 offense and No. 14 defense.

Clippers Analysis
The Clippers appeared to be in trouble on Monday night as they found themselves down by as many 15 in the first half vs San Antonio. However, after halftime, LA came out and turned a nine-point halftime deficit into a three-point lead entering the fourth quarter.
From there the Clippers would get big-time plays from their two superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George and hold on for a 108-105 victory. The win was the Clippers second straight and tenth in their last 13 games.
LA was led by Leonard’s 22 points on 8-17 shooting, He also had seven assists and six rebounds. Monday’s game did see Leonard’s streak of nine-straight games with at least 30 points end.
Paul George finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists in what was his third game back since returning from injury back on January 30. George did not play in the first meeting with the Miami Heat.
The Clippers have the league’s No. 7 offense and No. 5 defense coming into Wednesday’s game.

Key Player Matchups
Jimmy Butler vs. Kawhi Leonard
A matchup between two of the best two-way players in the NBA as Leonard and Butler go head-to-head. In the first meeting between the two Leonard had the advantage as he outscored Butler 33-20.
Leonard finished that game with 33-10-10 in what was his first career triple-double. Butler had a good game as well as he went for 20-8-7.
Duncan Robinson vs. Paul George
Paul George missed the first meeting with the Miami Heat as he was out due to injury. George is back and now the Heat will have to deal with the two-headed monster that is Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
George is still getting back into the swing of things as Monday was his first game playing over 25 minutes since January 5.
Robinson has been lethal from three as he has made at least three attempts from behind the arc in 11-straight games. Robinson had 16 points in the first matchup as he hit 5-8 from three.
