Heat Analysis

Miami HeatThe Miami Heat are playing their third straight game on the road. They won first game at Dallas 122-118 in overtime but lost the second at Memphis 118-111.

The Heat have struggled on the road this season as they are only 8-7 away from home. The Heat’s net rating drops from 13.2 to -2.4 on the road for a difference of 15.6 points.

Miami’s offense averages 9.6 fewer points per 100 possessions while the defense allows 6.0 more points per 100 possessions.

The Heat saw their road woes continue Monday night vs Memphis as the Heat were down by 15 at the half and then fell apart in the fourth quarter. Miami eventually came back and led 107-104 with a little over five minutes remaining but the Grizzlies would go on an 11-0 run to take the lead for good.

The loss was the first of the season for the Heat against a team with a sub-.500 record.

Miami has looked like a legit contender in the East this season and they are 13-2 this season vs teams in the Eastern Conference. Wednesday’s game vs Philaldephia represents a big opportunity for the Heat to show it.

In the first meeting with the 76ers, Jimmy Butler only had 11 points on 4-13 shooting while no Heat starter scored over 12 points.

76ers Analysis

Philadelphia 76ers

The 76ers saw their five-game winning streak snapped Sunday as the Brooklyn Nets dominated them 109-89. Philadelphia had won 13 of their last 15 up to that point.

Philly was without starting center Joel Embiid in the loss. It was the sixth game he’s missed this season. Philly is 3-3 this season in games that Embiid doesn’t play in.

The 76ers have been similar to the Heat this season when it comes to home and away disparity. Philadelphia has a net rating of 12.0 at home and -2.0 on the road. Their offense scores 4.8 more points at home (110.9 to 106.1) while the defense gives up almost 10 fewer points (98.9 to 108.1).

Philadelphia is 14-0 at home this season and they will look to remain as the NBA’s only undefeated team at home. To do it they will need Joel Embiid to be back and look healthy after he missed the Nets loss with a respiratory illness.

Embiid is averaging a team-high 22.8 points and 12.3 rebounds per game on the season.

The Sixers were led by Ben Simmons on Sunday as he finished with 20 points and five rebounds. He shot 7-10 from the field and 6-8 from the free-throw line.

In the first matchup with the Heat this season, Philly shot 14-29 from three and saw Josh Richardson score a season-high 32 points on 11-15 shooting.

Key Player Matchups

Tobias Harris vs. Jimmy Butler

The matchup between Butler and Harris was very onesided in the first meeting as Harris posted a 19-8-2 line and shot 7-11 while Butler had 11-5-3 but shot 4-13 from the field. In that game, the 76ers were +38 in the 26 minutes that Harris was on the floor.

While Harris had the best +/- of any player in that game Butler, unfortunately, had the worse as the Heat were outscored by 31 in his 30 minutes. Butler will need a much better performance this time if he wants to get a win and hand his former team their first home loss.

Joel Embiid vs. Bam Adebayo

Joel Embiid returns after missing the Sixer’s last game with a respiratory illness. He had a double-double in the first game vs Philadelphia as he went for 23 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks.

In the previous matchup vs Miami, Embiid was guarded the most by Adebayo and during his time guarded by him, Embiid was 1-5 shooting for four points.

Adebayo didn’t have much luck against Embiid on offense as he shot 2-6 and scored four points as well.

Daily Fantasy

The top two options for the 76ers-Heat matchup for daily fantasy are Joel Embiid and Bam Adebayo. Embiid is available for $9.8k and is projected to score 44.6 points while Adebayo is available for $8k and is projected to score 43.9 points.

If you want a cheaper option then consider Al Horford who is projected to score 29.6 points and cost only $6.2k.
