Minnesota Timberwolves at Philadelphia 76ersPreview
There are only three undefeated teams left in the NBA one week into the season. Two of those face off tonight in an interconference matchup as the Philadelphia 76ers host the Minnesota Timberwolves at Wells Fargo Center tonight.
Both teams are at the top of their respective conferences. Philadelphia will likely be the biggest test of Minnesota’s season, but the Timberwolves are no pushover and are looking solid early. Karl-Anthony Towns has had an incredible start and Andrew Wiggins is also looking improved. So far the 76ers have not hit many roadblocks in adding some new pieces, Josh Richardson and Al Horford, into their starting lineup.

Timberwolves Analysis
Karl-Anthony Towns has been dominant in the Timberwolves’ three games so far, averaging 23 points, 13.3 rebounds and five assists per game. He was recently named NBA Player of the Week, but he has hardly been alone in getting the Wolves out to a great early start.
Andrew Wiggins has been a surprise so far and he is showing a level of consistency he hasn’t shown before.
“It’s going to take time for all of it to come together with our emphasis and changing of systems, but he is going to have a good year,” Minnesota head coach Ryan Saunders said. “I’m in his corner, and I want to make sure he knows that.”
Wiggins was important in a come-from-behind win in which he scored 16 of 25 points in the final quarter.
In their latest win, a 116-109 victory over the Miami Heat, Towns had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Wiggins added 25 points. Robert Convington has also looked good coming back from injury with 11 points and 10 rebounds on Sunday night.

76ers Analysis
The Philadelphia 76ers had a score in an upstart Atlanta Hawks team on Monday night, as they won 105-103 after surviving a 40-point first quarter from Atlanta.
Joel Embiid made a huge impact in the victory with 36 points and 13 rebounds, but the big man is not quite happy with the team’s early record or his efforts just yet.
“It doesn’t matter,” Embiid said. “We’ve still got 79 games. So that’s a long way. Three-and-0, you know, we are very fortunate to be in this position. But we’ve still got a lot of work to do, me especially.”
Embiid carried the 76ers with just four players reaching double figures. Josh Richardson had 14, Ben Simmons finished with 13 points and Tobias Harris also had 13 in the win.

Key Player Matchups
Karl-Anthony Towns vs. Joel Embiid
This matchup between two of the NBA’s premier centers will probably impact which team walks away with their undefeated record intact. While everyone has made a big deal out of this matchup, Towns has said that he is more focused on getting the win and isn’t worried about the matchup with Embiid. Both players are off to good starts, but Towns is looking like an early MVP favorite.
Josh Richardson vs, Andrew Wiggins
Wiggins is enjoying a great start to the 2019-20 NBA season with averages of 20 points and six rebounds per game. Richardson has been up and down in three games. While it wasn’t his top scoring game, the 76ers’ last game was likely his best game of the young season, as he had 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three blocks. He has five total blocks through three games.
Daily Fantasy
Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns are the fantasy studs in tonight’s matchup. Embiid is available for $10k on FanDuel and he has a projection of 52.82 points. Towns has similar numbers at $9.9k with a 53.62 fantasy points. Both players add points, rebounds, blocks, and usually solid shooting percentages that you can add to your lineup.
If you’re looking for a value pick, go with Josh Richardson, whose $5.3k salary is expected to net you 30.63 points. Even after a big performance, Wiggins is still just valued at #6.3k with a projection of 29.86 points.
