  • Trea Turner will be out the next month or so, dealing with a broken finger. Wilmer Difo will continue to fill in.
  • Nomar Mazara did leave the game last night, and is considered day-to-day.

Today’s MLB Matchups

Underneath each game you will find game and lineup notes, alongside betting and fantasy tips. Clicking into each team will bring you to their team hub where you can look at news, stats, projected lineups, schedule, and more.

Kansas City Royals (2-3) @ Detroit Tigers (4-3)

Starting Pitchers: Jake Junis (R) vs. Spencer Turnbull (R)

  • Vegas views this one as about as even as you can get. Both teams sit with an implied total of four as it is a pick’em for the Tigers debut.
  • The under has hit in the first six Tigers games, while the over has hit in three of the first four Royals games.
  • Jake Junis had 20 strikeouts in his three starts against Detroit last season, going six or more innings in each.

Washington Nationals (2-3) @ New York Mets (5-1)

Starting Pitchers: Stephen Strasburg (R) vs. Noah Syndergaard (R)

  • The Mets will take on the Nationals again, as they took the first series. The Mets are read hot, and are -121 home favorites with Noah Syndergaard on the hill against Stephen Strasburg.
  • Public money is leaning more on the Mets at the moment, and are more heavy on the over. This might have to do with the recency bias from the last time these two met with these starters going.
  • The over was profitable in the first series, as the starting pitchers had most of them set at 6.5-7.5.

New York Yankees (2-4) @ Baltimore Orioles (4-2)

Starting Pitchers: James Paxton (R) vs. Alex Cobb (R)

  • The Yankees are heavy road favorites again, as James Paxton will look to get the Yankees back on track. The Orioles have one of the lowest implied total on the slate.
  • We see the recency bias already, as the public is a bit more split on the Yankees tonight with James Paxton on the hill.
  • The over is 6-4 in the last ten meetings between these two teams.

Boston Red Sox (1-5) @ Oakland Athletics (5-3)

Starting Pitchers: Eduardo Rodriguez (L) vs. Brett Anderson (L)

  • The Red Sox will try and close out a bad road trip with a win. It is a warm day with the wind blowing out, and the total is pretty high given all of the circumstances.
  • Boston is just -115 favorites tonight, and the total is set at 8.5.
  • Eduardo Rodriguez has 21 strikeouts in his last three starts with Oakland, going 2-1.
  • The under is 7-3 with the last ten games between the two teams.

Toronto Blue Jays (3-4) @ Cleveland Indians (2-3)

Starting Pitchers: Aaron Sanchez (R) vs. Trevor Bauer (R)

  • Trevor Bauer is a huge home favorite, as the Blue Jays are +166 dogs and have an implied total of three runs, which is the lowest on the day. The Jays offense has been awful to start the season.
  • Public money is heavy on the over set at 7, and leaning in favor of Cleveland and Trevor Bauer.

Cincinnati Reds (1-4) @ Pittsburgh Pirates (1-3)

Starting Pitchers: Tyler Mahle (R) vs. Jordan Lyles (R)

  • The Pirates are small home favorites, as both the Reds and Pirates will be digging deep into their rotation. PNC Park is looking like it is going to hold these runs, as Vegas sets both totals rather low.
  • With two below average arms on the hill, the public is leaning towards the over of eight.
  • Tyler Mahle has allowed 11 earned runs in two starts against Pittsburgh last season.

Chicago Cubs (1-4) @ Atlanta Braves (2-3)

Starting Pitchers: Yu Darvish (R) vs. Max Fried (R)

  • Yu Darvish has struggled with command early on, and will take on a very good Atlanta lineup from top to bottom. The only advantage could be the Cubs backing him with run support, as Max Fried is on the hill.
  • Atlanta is averaging 6.1 runs per game over their last ten meetings.
  • The Cubs are +105 dogs, but the public is on them heavily.

Texas Rangers (4-2) @ Los Angeles Angels (1-5)

Starting Pitchers: Edinson Volquez (R) vs. Matt Harvey (R)

  • Despite the offense struggling, the Angels have a rather high total, and are heavier home favorites at -144. Matt Harvey will take on the Rangers, who will bring six lefties to the plate, which is a tough draw for Harvey.
  • The under has hit eight of the last ten meetings.
