New Orleans Saints vs. Los Angeles Rams Player Prop Picks

We’re on to Week 16, and this Thursday Night Football matchup features two teams vying for playoff positioning in the NFC. With the Rams and Saints both sitting at 7-7, we should see a competitive prime-time game, and there are exciting players on both sides of the ball.

In this article, I’ll break down some of my top player prop looks for the game. Be sure to use the player prop search tool above to make sure you’re getting the best odds on whichever prop you decide to wager on. Let’s get to work.

Kyren Williams Over 88.5 Rushing Yards (-115 BetMGM)

The sportsbooks are finally starting to react to how elite Kyren Williams is, but I still believe there’s value in this number. Williams has 88+ rushing yards in each of his last five games and is averaging just under 125 rushing yards per game since returning from his injury in Week 12.

The Saints’ run defense has fallen apart as of late – they rank 26th in rushing yards allowed and have been hit hard by injuries. Since Week 11, they rank 27th in run defense EPA, and the continued absences of defensive linemen Malcolm Roach and Payton Turner haven’t helped matters. Williams should torch this defense.

Kyren Williams First Touchdown Scorer (+410 BetRivers)

If you’re looking for a more juicy way to bet on Kyren Williams on Thursday night, I like the value on this first touchdown prop. I bet the Rams -4, and I view it as highly likely that they’re the first team to score a touchdown in this game.

Williams has been their workhorse near the goal line, and the odds reflect that with his touchdown prop at around -210 depending on your book. Williams has scored in seven of his 10 games this season and has scored four touchdowns in his last four games since returning from his recent injury. Bet on that hot streak continuing here.

Derek Carr Over 218.5 Passing Yards (-114 FanDuel)

I’ve never been a huge fan of Derek Carr’s game, but even I have to admit he’s playing well lately. Last week, he completed 82.1% of his passes and threw for three touchdowns against the Giants. Over the last three weeks, he has six touchdowns to just two interceptions, but he doesn’t have a single turnover-worthy throw over that stretch per PFF.

The Rams defense has improved, but they can still be susceptible through the air. They’ve allowed over 218.5 passing yards in 11 of their 14 games this season, and if you’re buying into this Rams’ offense, there’s a strong probability that the Saints will need to go pass-heavy in the second half in order to keep up with their scoring.

Juwan Johnson Anytime Touchdown (+600 Caesars)

If you want a longshot touchdown scorer on the Saints’ side of the ball, Juwan Johnson is the player I’d be targeting. He scored last week and has seen an increased role in the red zone with Michael Thomas on IR. If Chris Olave is forced to miss a second straight game, the Saints would only become more reliant on their tight ends.

The issue here is that the Saints use three different tight ends – Johnson, Foster Moreau, and Jimmy Graham – and Taysom Hill still sees some occasional receiving work. However, the Rams have allowed 58.3 receiving yards per game to tight ends, the seventh-most in the NFL, and I like the upside with 6-1 odds on this prop.
