The Lions have lost three straight games and need a win if they want to stay in the playoff race. The rest of their season looks difficult, but this matchup against the Giants should be an easier win for the Lions. The Giants have not been a great team. They only have two wins and Daniel Jones has struggled the last few games. The spread for this game is 7 points in favor of the Lions. This should be a win for the Lions, but do not count out the Giants offense with the return of Saquon Barkley and Sterling Shepard to the lineup. New York Giants Analysis

New York GiantsAfter a great 40 point fantasy performance in his first game, Daniel Jones has not had over 15 points in a game yet. He has not been a solid fantasy option with many injuries on the Giants offense. With Saquon Barkley likely to play this game and Sterling Shepard questionable for this game, Jones’ prospects to do well this game improve. He only had 13.4 fantasy points in a good matchup against the Cardinals last week, but he should do better against the Lions this week. The Lions rank 22nd in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks, so Jones may be able to improve. I would not start him this week, but I would see how well he does for future games. If he cannot do well against the Lions defense, Jones may not be a startable quarterback for fantasy.

Saquon Barkley’s return was a huge boost for the Giants offense last week. He carried the ball 18 times for 72 yards and 1 touchdown. Against the Lions, Barkley should do better because the Lions have allowed the 3rd most fantasy points to running backs. The Giants will have to rely on him to have a chance to win this game, so he should do very well.

Detroit Lions Analysis

Detroit LionsThe big storyline for the Lions has been the injury to Kerryon Johnson. He was placed on injured reserve earlier this week after getting surgery on his knee. His backup, Ty Johnson, should step up to fill the starting running back role. Last week, he had 10 carries and 4 receptions while only playing part of the game. He is a great fantasy option this week against the Giants, who rank 25th in fantasy points allowed to running backs.

The receiver situation for the Lions has also been interesting. Last week against the vikings, Marvin Jones had a great game, while Kenny Golladay had an awful game. Jones had a career day, with 10 receptions for 93 yards and 4 touchdowns. He has been a pretty consistent option at receiver. With only two games with less than 10 PPR points, Jones has been solid. The Giants defense ranks 24th against receivers, so both Jones and Golladay are great options this week. Even though Golladay only had 1 receptions for 21 yards last week, he should have a better game this week. He has had 3 games with 20+ PPR points, so he is still a solid option. Last game was just unlucky for Golladay, so he should definitely see more looks than last week.

Daily Fantasy: Offensive Explosion

Saquon Barkley (DK: $8,900, FD: $8,600) is the safest bet to do well this game. He is facing a poor Lions run defense and has performed well in every game he has played. His salary is high, but he should be worth the salary. The Lions receivers are also primed to have a great game. Marvin Jones (DK: $5,800, FD: $6,300) and Kenny Golladay (DK: $6,400, FD: $6,700) should do very well. It is hard to know which receiver will do better, but they are both good options. Lastly, Lions running back Ty Johnson (DK: $4,900, FD: $5,200) is now the starting running back for the Lions and is facing a weak Giants run defense. His salary is extremely low and he could be a very sneaky play this week.
