New York Giants vs. Los Angeles Rams Preview (10/04/20): Betting Odds, Depth Charts, Live Stream (Watch Online)
Contents
Daniel Jones will look to earn his team their first victory of the season. However, it will not be easy against an elite looking Rams team headlined by Aaron Donald. Jared Goff almost pulled out a miraculous 25 point comeback last week against the Bills but fell just short. The Rams will look to keep pace with the rest of the NFC West and get a victory here against the Giants.

New York Giants Analysis
The New York Giants have struggled thus far on both offense and defense. While the secondary and front 7 for the Giants have had their moments, they still look extremely vulnerable to big plays. Meanwhile, Daniel Jones has been able to put together good drives; however, they are too often ending in FGs or turnovers.
If the Giants are going to have any chance in this game, then they will need to get one of Gallman, Freeman, or Lewis going in the ground game. This is one area in which the Rams’ defense has looked weak; however, without Saquan Barkley it is a struggle to see how the Giants can produce from their running game. It is going to take a heroic effort from the offensive line to establish the run.
When it comes to airing the ball out, Daniel Jones simply needs to do better. This is a tough secondary that he is going against and he cannot make mistakes like he has been. If he gets an opportunity to Slayton down the field, then he cannot miss. These opportunities will be few and far between in this game. The Giants’ offense will need to be perfect to win this game.
On defense, both the secondary and front 7 have been better than expected. However, that does not mean that they have been good. The defensive line is getting picked up by their stud LB core way too often in the running game. They also have not gotten nearly enough pressure to help out their secondary. The Dline for the Giants needs to fix both these issues if they want to stop this high powered Rams’ offense.

Los Angeles Rams Analysis
The Rams’ offense did everything they could to comeback against the Bills on Sunday, but it was simply just not enough. Jared Goff looked good in the second half; however, he was helped out by a killer running game led by Darrell Henderson. The defense gave up way too many points early and failed to stop the Bills on the final drive.
In this game, I do expect a bounce back from the defense. Aaron Donald should be able to feast on second-year QB Daniel Jones. Jones has lacked pocket awareness and has been prone to errant-throws when pressured. I also think that the Rams will have no problem stopping whoever the Giants throw at them on the ground. I am interested to see who Jalen Ramsey follows in this game, and if it is indeed Darius Slayton, then that could be a key matchup in securing the victory.
Darrell Henderson ruled the RBBC backfield for the Rams last week. He was extremely efficient, tallying off 10 yard runs every time he was back there. I expect Mcvay to increase his usage against this Giants’ defense to help control the clock and make the game easier for Goff. I do still expect Malcolm Brown to get carries, but I imagine that it is going to heavily lean towards Henderson in this game.
Goff showed great resilience last game coming back from such a large deficit and putting his team in position to win the game. I foresee Goff targeting Cooper Kupp a ton in this game like he did last week. Kupp struggled to get going the first two games of the season and I think that last week was a great reminder of why the Rams need to feed him. I think that Kupp working out of the slot will be reminiscent of JuJu Smith-Schuster in Week 1 against the Giants when he burned that secondary for two scores.

I think that there will not be enough points scored in this game for the Rams to cover the huge spread. While I do not think that the Giants’ defense will do much to stop the Rams, I believe that they will heavily rely on Darrell Henderson and the run game to score points. Meaning that chewing up the clock and keeping the game low scoring is very much in the cards. I also believe that Daniel Jones does just enough to keep this game somewhat competitive.
The Rams take this one 21-10.

Daily Fantasy Picks
Darrell Henderson at $5,800 on DK is one of my favorite RBs on the week. He was extremely efficient against one of the best rush defenses in the NFL, and now he gets to go up against the 24th ranked defense against RBs. His price point is below most starting RBs, and even behind other #1 options in RBBC. However, it is very likely that Henderson will see even more of a workload after the performance he put up against the Bills. A great option as an RB2.
The Rams’ DST at $3,900 is just a little out of the price range in which I would want to pick them up. However, they should be a top 5 defense on the week. If your lineup can afford it, then I recommend going with the LAR. If they can get a TD, with the number of turnovers the Giants give opposing DSTs, then they have #1 potential.
Evan Engram at $4,400 is ridiculously low. If there is one palace in which the Rams struggle it is at LB. They are ranked 23rd against TEs on DK, and Engram is one of the best. Yes, he has failed to get a huge game going, but his target share and the matchup point to a big week for #88!
