New York Jets Analysis
Where to begin on the analysis of the Jets? The one positive is the fact that Darnold will be back in this game, and Darnold has looked pretty good in the games that he has played. The WR core is playing better than their name and talent value would lead you to believe. However, that is about where I would stop you. Originally I had Bell as being a big difference in this game and being the thing that would keep the scoreline respectable. Then, Adam Gase cut Bell because he wants more playing time.
My analysis for this game is simple, if Adam Gase is coaching it, which he will be doing so, then the Jets do not have a chance to win. This is beyond just roasting and meming at this point, the fact that Gase has a job is bewildering. He uses his weapons wrong, argues with his players, and has terrible offensive schemes. This Miami defense is not bad and I would say they are just as good as the Cardinals. To attack this defense you would need to put Darnold in good situations, which Gase cannot do.
The ground game that I thought could keep the Jets in it, by giving Darnold short 2nd and 3rd down situations, is gone. Without Bell, the Jets have Frank Gore and La’Mical Perine, two players who do not belong on an NFL 52-man roster. Darnold will have to pass his way through this entire game, which will be difficult with Jamison Crowder being your #1. The stat line may look bleak at the end of the game for Darnold, but make no mistake it will be Adam Gases’ fault.
The defensive side of the ball is led by former bounty-scandal mastermind and cheater Gregg Williams. His sole purpose in this game will be to beat up Fitzpatrick, which you just cannot do. Seemingly ageless, Fitz will just get right back up and hit the Jets deep with Parker. The only way that Williams is able to stop Miami is with turnovers. The secondary will have to be going for plays and making interceptions. They cannot cover Parker and Williams. The front 7, which is supposed to be a strength, has yet to really do anything to slow down an RB.

Miami Dolphins Analysis
The Dolphins are flying high after dominating a team that just went to the Super Bowl last year. The 49ers stood no chance against Fitzpatrick as he repeatedly torched their secondary. The ground game was also doing fine with Gaskin and Breida both finding holes. Then on defense, they had their best display yet, consistently getting off the field on third down.
In this game, I peg Fitzpatrick to not miss a beat and toss around another 300 yards and multiple scores. No one on the Jets can cover Parker and Williams, both should be open for Ryan Fitzpatrick to sling it to and build a big lead. I expect that Gaskin and Brieda will get some carries as the lead inflates and Miami look to control the clock. While the talent for the Jets is there in the front 7, they have yet to really display that talent. I do not foresee anything slowing down Gaskin or Brieda if Miami chooses to go that route.
Looking at the defensive side of this game for Miami I cannot foresee any issues. The secondary has looked much improved since the start of the Jaguars game, and it makes sense. The group is very talented with tons of money/draft picks invested in it. I think that over time they should develop into a top 10 secondary with no problem. Going up against these Jets’ “weapons”, if you can call them that, should be an easy test that the Miami secondary will ace.
The rush defense for this Dolphins team has been playing better than I expected, but still not very well. This was originally a fear when Bell was still on the roster; however, this has quickly turned into a non-issue with Frank Gore and La’Mical Perine being the starting RBs. The Miami defense should not worry about this rushing attack and instead focus on getting pressure to Sam Darnold.

I believe that the Jets will struggle to put up double-digit points in this game. Meanwhile, the Dolphins will excel on just about every drive. It would take a complete meltdown full of Fitzpatrick interceptions for this game to go wrong for them. I believe that we see just about the same exact game from the Dolphins as we saw from Arizona against the Jets. This line opened up at around -8 and has been creeping higher and higher. Seemingly, the public is also against the Jets.

Daily Fantasy Picks
All prices are from DraftKings Classic games.
Ryan Fitzpatrick at $5,900 is a beautiful sight. Despite the fact that I think this game will quickly turn into a blowout, I still love this price point. Fitzpatrick and the Dolphins are not the kind of squad who is going to give up passing the ball when they have a lead. Instead, they will continue to force it downfield and allow for Fitzpatrick to have another gargantuan game.
Miami’s defense at $2,900 is the biggest steal of the week. The Jets have nothing on offense and the worst coach in years running it. Miami should get turnovers, sacks, and hold the Jets to limited points. I believe that they are a top 5 defense on the week and you are getting them at a sub-$3000 price point.
DeVante Parker at $6,300 or Preston Williams at $4,700, make room for one of these guys on your squad. I think that Parker has a better chance of going off, but both could be fantastic plays. If you can afford Williams with your last WR spot and not Parker, that is just fine. The value on both is top-notch against this Jets’ defense. Fitzpatrick will find them for multiple big plays.
