NHL Best Bets (11/15/23): Expert Predictions For Tonight’s Games
Contents
There are only 4 pro hockey games tonight, but there’s plenty of value for bettors. Check out this NHL best bet from Anthony Elio.
New York Islanders vs. Vancouver Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks are apparently for real under head coach Rick Tocchet. The team has the best offense in hockey right now, with the Canucks currrently averaging 4.4 goals per game. Elias Petterson leads the team with 25 points while Brock Boeser has recorded a team-leading 12 goals. The Canucks currently have three players with at least 23 points: Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, and J.T. Miller. And goalie Thatcher Demko is 4th in the league in GAA (1.96), 4th in SV% (.935), and a 7-3-0 record. Oh, and the team has won 6 of its past 7 games while outscoring opponents 35-14.
The New York Islanders, on the other hand, have been pretty inconsistent this season. While Vancouver has been lightning the lamp, New York is a bottom-3 scoring team with 2.36 goals per game. While the Canucks have a trio of players with at least 23 points, the Islanders have three players with 10 points or more. Goalie Ilya Sorokin would usually be the saving grace of the team, but his numbers have been fairly disappointing, with a 3.21 GAA and .907 SV%. And the defense around him isn’t exactly helping, as they’re allowing the 3rd most shots per game in the league with 34.43. While I originally went into this article liking a simple Canucks moneyline bet, I’m willing to get a little spicy and bet the puck line, as New York has lost by 2 or more goals in 4 straight losses.
Best Bet: Vancouver Canucks -1.5
