Denver Nuggets vs. Boston Celtics Player Prop Picks
Our favorite Denver Nuggets vs. Boston Celtics player prop picks include Jamal Murray scoring 23 or more points at -115 odds and Kristaps Porzingis scoring 17 or more points at -125.
Jamal Murray Over 22.5 Points (-115)
It is kind of interesting, isn’t it? Despite the Boston Celtics having two fantastic perimeter defenders in Derrick White and Jrue Holiday, they still allow opposing point guards to score the fourth-most points and knock down the second-most three-pointers per game.
Much of this can be attributed to the fact that the Celtics are giving up the third-most wide-open (6+ feet) three-point attempts to opponents despite having the second-lowest (best) defensive rating in the NBA. They still let shooters get clean shots up. And Jamal Murray is going to be the beneficiary.
Further, Murray elevates his game in matchups like this, and we saw that repeatedly during last season’s playoffs. This will certainly be a playoff-caliber atmosphere. In the 2023 playoffs, Murray posted 26.1 points per game on 47.3% shooting from the field and 39.6% from behind the arc.
Kristaps Porzingis Over 16.5 Points (-120)
We have to drink a little bit of juice on our favorite player props for this matchup, but do as I always say and “plug your nose and knock it back.”
Kristaps Porzingis is in a great spot in this game against the Denver Nuggets. Nikola Jokic does not enjoy moving out to the three-point line to defend, and Porzingis spends much of his time on the perimeter. Even in the paint, Porzingis should be able to shoot over and around Jokic, who is a below-the-rim player and four inches shorter. At 7-foot-3 with a plus wingspan, Kristaps can shoot turnaround jumpers and hook shots inside when he is around the interior.
Outside of the favorable matchup, Porzingis also has a strong recent history in home games this season, averaging 20.9 points on a 54/39/88 shooting split over a ten-game stretch at T.D. Garden. KP has hit the Over on this line in nine of his past ten home games.
