Philadelphia 76ers vs. Indiana Pacers 1/17/19: Starting Lineups, Matchup Breakdown, Odds, Daily Fantasy, Betting
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Indiana Pacers Preview
We are just past the halfway point of the NBA season, and teams will likely start jockeying for playoff position soon. With that in mind, the Eastern Conference’s number three team, the Indiana Pacers (29-14), are hosting the team who the hold a one-game lead on, the Philadelphia 76ers (29-16).
Both teams enter tonight’s game on two-game winning streaks. The Pacers have won eight of their last 10 games, and Philadelphia has won seven of their last 10.
When these teams last met on December 14, Thaddeus Young led the Pacers with 26 points in a 113-101 win. Joel Embiid had a monster game with 40 points and 21 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough for a win.

Philadelphia 76ers Starting Lineup
Jimmy Butler got sweet revenge on his former club, the Minnesota Timberwolves, on Tuesday night. It was Philadelphia’s second consecutive win after beating the Knicks prior to that.
Against the Timberwolves, Philly showed a little bit of everything, from having 40-point first and second quarters to clamping down on Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.
Joel Embiid was unstoppable with a 31 point, 13 rebound performance. Butler had 19 points, and Ben Simmons nearly had another triple-double with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists.
“I think we do a great job of scoring points, but whenever we guard, we’re a really tough team. So let’s learn from this and we got a stretch ahead of us now,” Butler said after the game
Philadelphia had seven players reach double digits in scoring.
Indiana Pacers Starting Lineup
After losing in embarrassing fashion to the Boston Celtics last Wednesday, the Indiana Pacers exacted revenge on their next two opponents – or shall we say, victims.
Last Friday, the Pacers easily dispatched of the Knicks 121-106 and then blasted the Phoenix Suns 131-97.
Like the 76ers, the Pacers seemed to really base everything off of their defense. They limited three Suns starters, included Devin Booker, to a combined 18 points. They also got out to a quick start, outscoring the Suns 38-19 in the first quarter.
When the Pacers play as well as they did on both sides, they don’t need to lean on star guard Victor Oladipo for scoring as much, who scored eight points against the Suns.
“I don’t need to score,” Oladipo said. “I had four shots in the first half and we’re up 11. That’s the beauty of our team. We play well together.”
Even without Oladipo scoring in double figures, they had seven players who did, led by forward Bojan Bogdanovic’s 20 points. Bogdanovic is averaging career highs almost across the board for the Pacers.
76ers vs. Pacers Betting Odds
Indiana is a 2.5 point favorite to win tonight’s game at home. The over/under is 225 points and the Pacers are -150 on the moneyline.
The Pacers have been an excellent 15-5 at home and are 22-7 as the favorite, whereas the 76ers are 10-12 on the road and 5-9 as the underdog.
