The (3-4) Philadelphia Eagles look to remain in the hunt for the NFC East as they sit just one game behind the Cowboys currently. With the Cowboys on their bye week, it is their chance to move closer to passing them for first place. On the other side of the ball, the (5-1) Buffalo Bills look to continue to keep close to the Patriots who are running away with their lead. It is looking like the Bills will have to settle for the Wild Card position, but they are not out of the race yet. A win over the Eagles this week would only strengthen their chances to pull off the comeback. For odds movement and full matchup history, visit the Philadelphia Eagles at Buffalo Bills matchup page.

Philadelphia Eagles Analysis

Philadelphia EaglesThe Eagles need to start winning if they want a chance to win the division. They go into this game a game behind the Cowboys who are on bye this week so they have no chance of passing them but can move within half a game. Last week, they took a devastating loss to the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. They will need to make changes this week to beat the Bills who have an even greater defense. The possible addition of DeSean Jackson back to the starting lineup would greatly help the struggling pass game.

The Bills won’t make this game easy for the Eagles as they have only lost to the Patriots in a close game. The Eagles will need to find ways to break through their stubborn defense that has ranked third in both yards allowed and points per game. They need to get their pass game back. Last week, Alshon Jeffrey and Nelson Agholor brought in a total of 4 receptions. This won’t win them games. DeSean Jackson would add extra value at the wide receiver position, but Carson Wentz needs to get back in sync with his receivers to have a shot of beating the Bills’ defense.

Buffalo Bills Analysis

Buffalo BillsThe Bills find themselves in a good spot in a highly separated AFC East. The Bills and the Patriots are the only competitive teams in the division and are two of the top teams in the whole conference. Last week the Bills took out the Dolphins with a big 4th quarter offensively. Despite the win, the Dolphins were surprisingly able to puncture the Bills’ tight defense which is not a good sign for them moving forward. They need to tighten up if they are going to stop an Eagles’ offense that has the talent to be a top offense in the league.

The Eagles have one of the worst pass defenses, allowing 270.6 passing yards per game which ranks sixth-highest in the NFL. Josh Allen should be ready to throw a lot as the Eagles have one the better run defenses in the league. Most of their offensive production will be through the air. John Brown and Cole Beasley will be busy this week if the Bills want to win this game. I don’t see Frank Gore getting much done on the ground which will put a lot on Allen to move the ball.

Daily Fantasy: Taking Flight

The Bills will need to learn how to fly to take down the soaring Eagles. Josh Allen will need to take control of the offense and assert himself as the most dynamic player out there for them to win. The Eagles have allowed almost all of the offense against them through the air. Players like John Brown and Cole Beasley will be extra busy this week if the Bills are going to win this game. If Josh Allen can prove himself to be a threat through the air, that will open up his ability to scramble for yards which will only add to his fantasy value.
