Philadelphia Eagles Analysis
The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-4-1 and are trying to figure themselves out on both sides of the ball. They have been granted a wide-open opportunity to win the division without Dak Prescott to compete against. This game is even more crucial for their season considering both of these teams have a 1-1 division record. However, the Eagles have been left very injury-riddled on the offense, making this a more difficult task for them.
Carson Wentz will be crucial in the passing game for them in this competition. Last week, he threw for 359 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. However, he was sacked three times in the game and rushed 13 total times. Their offensive line has allowed 28 sacks this season on Carson Wentz, tied for the most with any team in the league with the Cincinnati Bengals. Their offensive line will be crucial in this game to keep Wentz in the pocket. Luckily, the Cowboys have a below-average defensive line that has a 6.1% sack rate.
Boston Scott may be the second most crucial aspect of this game with starter Miles Sanders likely being out of this game due to injury. However, last week Scott rushed 12 times for 46 yards, but also caught three passes for 46 yards and made the game-winning touchdown. Luckily for Scott, Dallas is one of the worst rushing defenses in the league, allowing around 178 rushing yards per game, the worst in the NFL. Plus, they allow nearly two rushing touchdowns per game which rank second to last in the NFL. Scott’s role will be key for the Eagles next week.
On the receiving side, the Eagles have numerous injured players like Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, DeSean Jackson, and Alshon Jeffery. Travis Fulgham, Greg Ward, and tight end Richard Rodgers will be crucial in the passing game for the Eagles. Last week, Rodgers had six catches for 85 yards, while Greg Ward had the first of two receiving touchdowns in the game. Ward and Fulgham will matchup against Trevon Diggs and Jourdan Lewis in the game next week.
The Eagles defensive line will be crucial for their win next week. They have produced 24 sacks this season and allowed only 3.5 yards per carry to opposing running backs this season as one of the best pass-rushing and run defensive teams in the league. Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat are both in the top ten for tackles for loss this season alongside Fletcher Cox. While Philadelphia has a weaker passing defense this season, Darius Slay is still helping this team maintain one of the lowest average pass yards to their opponents with around 220 yards per game.
The Eagles certainly have a chance to win this game if their offense can take advantage of the run game and make some passes downfield. It will be crucial for them to step up in the pass defense against the Cowboys’ deep receiving core. However, if Ben Dennuci comes in for Andy Dalton, they will have an easier time stopping him, especially in the pass rush.

Dallas Cowboys Analysis
The Dallas Cowboys were dominated last week by the Washington Football team in a 25-3 blowout. Andy Dalton suffered a concussion mid-game and Ben DiNucci had to cover for him the rest of the game. Washington held the Cowboys to 142 total yards and one red zone attempt in a dominant defensive outing. Dallas could really use a win in the division to help them climb back up to the first place spot.
Andy Dalton struggled against Washington last week completing under 50% of his passes for 75 yards and an interception. Dalton did not attend practice on Thursday but did participate in quarterback meetings with some hope of playing on Sunday night, per ESPN. However, Ben DiNucci looks like the most likely starter. Last week, DiNucci completed 2/3 passes for 39 yards in their loss. He will have a harder time against the Eagles’ defensive front, who has produced the most sacks on the year. His offensive line has also had its struggles, which has allowed 20 sacks already this season.
Ezekiel Elliot will be a key part of getting this offense moving down the field. He was kept to 46 yards last week on 12 carries against Washington’s defensive front and may struggle against Philadelphia’s defensive line next week too. Thankfully, Dallas’s offensive line has allowed him 4.55 yards per carry as one of the best run-blocking teams in the league. Zeke will need to figure out a way to help his team move the ball and keep it out of the Eagles’ hands.
The receiving core for the Cowboys will need to be a big help for them on Sunday night, but they have the talent to do so. Amari Cooper has the fifth-most receiving yards this season with 583 and the second most receptions with 53 on the year. Rookie CeeDee Lamb is 14th in yards with 497 this season and has been a big help alongside Michael Gallup. Even in the midst of chaos for the Cowboys, Cooper still had seven catches for 80 yards. Cooper will have a tough matchup next week against Darius Slay but will need to work in this one to pull off a win.
The Cowboys defense has certainly been lackadaisical on the rushing side of things, allowing the most rushing yards per game this season to their opponents. They will need to focus on getting stops against Boston Scott and make Wentz throw the ball to their secondary. Trevon Diggs is currently twelfth in passes defended with six on the season, and will be matching up against either Fulgham or Ward. He will be key in shutting down the Eagles’ passing game to force them to run the ball.
The Cowboys are certainly struggling now with the possibility of Andy Dalton sitting out the next game. Ben DiNucci may not have enough weapons in his offensive line to help him get through this one. Mike McCarthy will have to change his game plan to open up the run game and allow DiNucci to take his time in the pocket.

Ben DiNucci gives me serious doubts about the Cowboys’ ability to win next week. The fact that the Eagles have an excellent pass rush makes me all the more certain that the Eagles should pull this one out. If they can keep it together on offense with their injuries, they should be fine. I take Eagles’ spread and money line next week.
We are looking at two of the most unproductive offenses in the league with reasonable defenses in these types of scenarios. The under should hit next week due to the starting job of Ben DiNucci and the Eagles large amount of injuries.

Love/Hate Fantasy Picks
Boston Scott produced 19.2 fantasy points in Miles Sanders’ absence last week and I believe he can do the same this week. Sanders has originally projected 13.8 points, but Scott should be able to live up to that expectation and more. The Cowboys have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs this season and will struggle to contain Scott. Scott would be a great RB2 filler for Sunday.
Amari Cooper may have a tough time next week with Ben DiNucci running the offense and a probable matchup with Darius Slay. H has averaged a whopping 18 fantasy points per game this season. While he will most likely produce in this game, his performance may not be up to his expectation next week. He may be downgraded to WR2-type numbers next week.
