Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Seattle Seahawks Player Prop Picks
On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers travel west to face the Seattle Seahawks in what has become a massively important game for playoff considerations. In this article, I’ll cover some player prop angles for your consideration. As always, make sure to use the player prop search tool above to compare odds from different sportsbooks. Let’s get to work.
Najee Harris Anytime Touchdown (+165 FanDuel)
The usage split between Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren has been fascinating this season, but it’s been skewing more towards Harris lately, especially in the red zone. Harris has 14 red zone opportunities to just seven for Jaylen Warren since Week 12. That sets up well against a weak Seattle run defense that ranks 30th in EPA.
There’s a significant difference between the odds pricing at different books on this prop with FanDuel offering the best number at +165 while Caesars has it priced at +110. Make sure you’re shopping for the best number with all of your bets, but especially touchdown props since they vary so greatly across different platforms.
Geno Smith Over 0.5 Interceptions (+115 BetMGM)
Smith has only thrown nine interceptions this season, but he’s due for some significant regression in that category as he has 20 turnover-worthy plays, the eighth-most in the NFL. 11 of those 20 turnover-worthy plays have come while he’s been under pressure, and that should be the case in this specific matchup.
The Steelers rank 14th in pressure rate and they’ll be aggressive in getting after Geno Smith with the 4th-highest blitz rate. With T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith wreaking havoc on the edges, Smith could be under fire in this game, and if that’s the case, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him cough up an interception. Plus money here feels like solid value.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 43.5 Receiving Yards (-114 FanDuel)
Week after week, rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba has flashed the elite upside that had scouts clamoring over his talent as a first-round prospect. He now has 40+ yards in seven of his last eight games and has highlighted elite route running and precise footwork that will keep him a starter in this league for a very long time.
JSN is second in the NFL in designed targets since Week 12 according to Fantasy Points Data, indicating the Seahawks are making a concerted effort to get their talented rookie the ball. Smith-Njigba has another exploitable matchup this week against a Steelers’ defense that has allowed the seventh-most receiving yards to slot receivers since Week 10.
With Joey Porter Jr. likely shadowing D.K. Metcalf on the perimeter, this could become a strong matchup for JSN, especially if the Steelers’ blitz is getting home and forcing the ball out of Geno Smith’s hands faster than normal. JSN’s routes are often shallower and over the middle of the field, making him an easy outlet for Smith when he’s under pressure.
