Pelicans Analysis

New Orleans PelicansNew Orleans is coming off a tough game at Oracle where they lost 140-147. In that game, Steph Curry had a big game putting up 37 points with seven 3-pointers.

The good news is that Anthony Davis returned from a two-game absence with a sprained right elbow. He performed well shooting just 6 of 16 for 17 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. Nicola Mirotic scored 29 points while playing only 29 minutes because the Pelicans medical staff is still monitoring his right ankle. They have slowing increased his minutes from 17 on Monday to 29 on Wednesday.

Point guard Jrue Holiday had 25 points with seven assists while his backup Elfrid Payton contributed 12 assists. It should also be noted that New Orleans only has two road wins versus Western Conference teams and this matchup in Portland will be their third road game in a row on the west coast. Fatigue should be closely monitored with all of the traveling they have endured.
