Spurs Analysis
The Spurs swept their recent road trip with wins over Dallas and Minnesota. Against Minnesota, the Spurs had to do it without DeMar DeRozan, who is expected to be back this game.
In DeRozan’s absence, Marco Belinelli was huge off the bench for San Antonio. Rudy Gay also returned to the lineup and scored 22 points as one of six Spurs players in double figures.
Prior to him sitting, DeRozan had been struggling, and Popovich said he had several bumps and bruises. The Spurs likely hope the time off will help rejuvenate DeRozan, who started the season off hot.
The Spurs’ second unit remains one of the strongest in the league, led by Belinelli, Davis Bertans and Patty Mills.

Clippers Analysis
The Clippers started the season off strong and were looking like one of the surprise teams in the league, but they have struggled lately especially as they have had to deal with several injuries.
Their most recent loss in this five-game skid came at the hands of the Golden State Warriors on Friday in DeMarcus Cousins’ return. The Warriors didn’t miss a beat in adding in a fifth scorer, and the Clippers could not stop the new big five.
With Gallinari having to leave the game, the Clippers were down yet another scorer, and as much as Tobias Harris and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tried to make it a contest, they were simply outgunned in a 94-112 loss.
As Harris said, the Clippers just needed that one extra scoring threat, and with both Gallinari and Lou Williams out, the Clippers couldn’t come up with an answer.
