San Antonio Spurs at Toronto Raptors Preview
The San Antonio Spurs resume their Rodeo Road Trip tonight in Toronto as they travel north of the border for a matchup against former players Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green and the Toronto Raptors. Tonight’s game will mark DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Poeltl’s first return to the city of Toronto since they were traded.
The Spurs currently sit in seventh place in the Western Conference with a 33-26 record. They won their final game before the All-Star break and are 6-4 in their last 10. Toronto is 1.5 games behind the Milwaukee Bucks for second place in the Eastern Conference and have a 43-16 record. They’ll be looking to continue their hot streak as they won their last six and are 7-3 in their last 10.
In their last matchup in San Antonio, Spurs fans treated Leonard to boos just about any time he touched the ball and the Spurs easily rolled to a 125-107 win. LaMarcus Aldridge led the Spurs with 23 points and DeRozan had a triple-double, while Leonard led the Raptors with 21 points.

Spurs Analysis
The San Antonio Sputs have been on a bit of a roller coaster ride this season as they stumbled out of the gates, found some momentum and then struggled again recently.
They were able to win their most recent game before the All-Star break to stop the bleeding on a losing streak to start their annual Rodeo Road Trip. The Spurs resume that road trip tonight but they’ll have second-year guard Derrick White back.
White has been the Spurs’ best wing defender and having him sidelined to start the road trip made for some very tough times. White is probable for tonight and after the break he said he is 100%. One of the reasons the Spurs were so successful last time out against Toronto was because although White gave up a few inches, he defended Kawhi Leonard very well and forced the Raptors star into a rough shooting night.
It’ll likely be an emotional night for DeMar DeRozan who returns to the city where he played his entire career up unti he was traded this past Summer. He has struggled lately but last time he played Toronto, he finished with a triple-double so it could be just the boost he needs.

The Raptors are entering tonight’s game on a six-game win streak as they inch closer to regaining the top spot in the East from the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Raptors were well-represented at All-Star weekend with Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry, Danny Green and OG Anunoby all participating in events.
Marc Gasol has been a nice addition to the roster for the Raptors. He seems to be a good fit and while he is currently backing up Serge Ibaka, the expectation is that he will taking over starting duties late in the season and into the playoffs.
In the Raptors last win before the break, eight players scored in double figures including Pascal Siakam, who went off for 44 against the Wizards.
