San Francisco 49ers at Cincinnati Bengals Matchup Preview 9/15/19: Analysis, Depth Charts, Betting Picks, Daily Fantasy

Looking for information about the upcoming 2020 fantasy football season? You came to the right place, don’t miss out on our fantasy football rankings & projections. We didn’t forget about the defense either with our rankings. Also, we have DFS players covered with projections for them as well. Everything you could need to a positive season is here on lineups.

This is the first home game for the Cincinnati Bengals, and the San Francisco 49ers are on the road again after visiting Tampa last week. The Bengals are coming off a close road loss against the Seattle Seahawks, while the 49ers took care of business against Tampa Bay. For the 49ers, this is a chance for them to start the season off 2-0, while the Bengals will be looking to get to .500. Both of these teams put up steadier defensive performances in Week 1, but aren’t projected to hold those types of numbers throughout the season. The Bengals will once again be without AJ Green who is expected to miss a good portion of the first half of the season, and Joe Mixon will need to at least be monitored after leaving last week’s game. San Francisco 49ers Analysis

San Francisco 49ersYou might be wondering how the 49ers scored 31 points with how the offense played, and that is because they had two interceptions go for touchdowns. It was not a great week when they had the ball. Jimmy Garoppolo averaged 6.1 yards, and finished the day with 166 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The injury bug plagued the backfield of San Francisco again, as Tevin Coleman is expected to miss weeks. We should expect a split workload between Raheem Mostert and Matt Breida. It was a tough day for Breida, who finished with 37 yards on 15 carries. Mostert came in and had a more productive run with 40 yards on nine attempts. We should expect the 49ers to hammer the ground game this week against a below average Bengals rush defense.

Throwing just 27 times, it was clear that George Kittle was the go-to favorite. He had ten targets, while nobody else had over five. All the backs were involved in the passing game, and there was talks about getting looks at multiple names. Deebo Samuel is one name that I expect to grow into more targets. Dante Pettis had a lot of hype, and finished with just one target.

Cincinnati Bengals Analysis

Cincinnati BengalsWe expected a blowout loss last week for Cincinnati, and they nearly pulled off an upset. The Bengals easily gave up on the run, which was easy to do once Joe Mixon left the game. Either way, they had zero success on the ground, tallying 34 yards on 14 attempts. It sounds like Joe Mixon’s MRI was a positive sign, but we will need to monitor him for this week still. If he was to miss any time, expect more of the passing volume and Giovani Bernard to be a featured back within the offense. Dalton aired it out 51 times, completing 35 of them for 418 yards and two scores. The offensive line is going to be a problem for Cincinnati, and already allowed five sacks.

There were two clear favorites for Dalton, as John Ross emerged with a monster 7-158-2 line. He saw 12 targets, and with AJ Green out, we might have found the number two piece in this offense. Tyler Boyd had an 8-60-0 line, but saw 11 targets. Both CJ Uzomah and Tyler Eifert saw a combined 11 targets, and put together decent lines themselves. Eifert is a name to keep an eye on as he gets back into a groove after missing plenty of time with injuries.

QB: Andy Dalton

RB2: Giovani Bernard
WR1: A.J. Green
WR2: John Ross
WR3: Tyler Boyd
TE: Tyler Eifert

Betting Pick: Bengals -1.5

The 49ers are once again in a near pick’em on the road, where they went 0-8 last season, but are 1-0 in 2019. This is another toss up game, where we tend to lean with the home team. Joe Mixon’s status is going to have a little weight on where to look in this game, because this is a much better spot for them to get him going compared to last week. The over/under is set at 45, and the offenses have potential in this game to put up points on both defenses, but are also very inconsistent. There isn’t a ton of value or confidence in this game.

Daily Fantasy: A Game For Tournaments

Value running backs will pop up from this game, depending on the Joe Mixon news. But for San Francisco Matt Breida and Raheem Mosart will be value backs to consider if you are trying to pay up elsewhere. The Tampa Bay backs ran well against the 49ers, and Chris Carson had himself a debut. Dating back to last season, the Bengals ranked 26th against the run, where San Francisco ranked 12th. Both defenses ranked inside the bottom ten against the pass, but the San Francisco passing attack did not look suitable for upside outside of George Kittle. Targets were scarce for most, and that is the concern. Recency bias might have Ross on people’s radars, but Tyler Boyd is the name I would go back to. There isn’t enough production elsewhere to make the case for either Bengals tight end at the moment.
