Emmi Peltonen is a Finnish figure skater who was born in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born in the United States due to her father, Ville Peltonen, being on the Nashville Predators roster. After moving back to Finland, she focused on skating and was a gold medal winner at the 2013 Nordic Championships. After crushing during her junior events, she qualified to join the national team and was also competing at the senior world level.

Born in Moscow, Russia, Elena Radionova began skating at the age of three. She started getting coached at the age of four, where she started to compete in the Russian Junior Championships. Radionova does skate with CSKA Moscow and has also placed at multiple European and World Championships.

Another Russian figure skater is Alina Zagitova, who is one of the up and coming figure skaters in the world. She is 18 years old and is already an Olympic champion. She also won the 2018 European Championship and the 2019 World Championship. It doesn’t end there as she even in a few team events and won the 2017-18 Grand Prix Final. Already ranking inside the top ten in the world, her career is just getting started.

Born in Moscow, Russia, Adelina Sotnikova is a two-time European medalist and 2014 Olympic champion. Sotnikova has not had a long career, retiring due to back issues. She currently runs her salon in Moscow.

She has won on both the European and World stage placing in multiple championships. Sinitsina began skating at an early age and comes from a family of gymnasts.

Tessa Virtue is a recently retired Canadian ice dancer, who won in 2010, 2014, and 2018 Olympics. She is one of the top Canadian athletes of all-time, also pulling in medals from Canada and World Championships. She was born in Ontario, Canada, where she began skating at the age of nine. She would go onto study Psychology at the University of Windsor.

7. Tanith Belbin

The Canadian-American Ice Dancer has been skating since she was at an early age. Her mother was a former figure skater and costume designer. She was born in Ontario but moved to Michigan, where she earned her dual-citizenship. Belbin has competed for the United States and is a four-time world medalist and won silver at the 2006 Olympics.

Born in Finland, Kiira Korpi is one of the top Finnish skaters. Korpi has skated professionally for over ten years and speaks three different languages (Swedish, English, and German). Starting at the age of five, Korpi would go onto dominate in junior competitions before qualifying for seniors. She has won multiple European medals but has never competed at the Olympic level.
