Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers Player Prop Picks

We have put together our favorite player props for the Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers game, including Kevin Durant to score over 28.5 points and Anthony Davis to record at least three blocks! See the analysis below!

Kevin Durant Over 28.5 Points (-120)

Few players, if any, in the NBA’s long history have the scoring ability of Kevin Durant, who recently moved into the top ten in all-time points scored. We should once again see an exceptional offensive outing from one of the world’s best in this quarterfinal knockout round of the new In-Season Tournament.

Durant has only played against LeBron James twice in the past five years, with both games coming this season, but KD has certainly made up for lost time with iconic performances. Even though the Suns lost in both games, Durant posted 39 points and 38 points in those two matchups, exemplifying once more how he is the best of the best on that end of the floor.

In those bouts, Durant had a shooting split of 49/46/78 while attempting 27.5 field goals per game. And that is with the entire Lakers’ defense focusing on him because Devin Booker was unavailable. Recently, KD has hit the Over on this line in seven of the past eight games, too, while shooting 53% from the floor and 56% from deep.

Now that Booker is back, KD will have less attention on him; he should get clean looks all night long.

Anthony Davis To Record 3+ Blocks (+135)

Which Anthony Davis will be getting on Tuesday night? Will we get one of the world’s best rim protectors and three-level scorers, or will we get a disappearing act that rivals the likes of Houdini?

Davis has looked every bit the part of one of the most exceptional interior defenders in the NBA through the first portion of this season. AD is averaging just shy of three blocks and nearly four “stocks” in 35 minutes per game, proving his durability which has been widely questioned over the past few years.

Regardless, AD has hit this line in three of his past five games and in five of his past ten. That’s a pretty successful hit rate for a plus-odds bet. Further, Davis has played the Suns twice this season and hit this line once while also recording three steals in what was a masterclass defensive performance.

This matchup is quite favorable for Davis, too. While Jusuf Nurkic is an impactful player, he is not a vertical threat athletically. AD will have plenty of opportunities to get blocks on Nurkic when he is trying to finish around the rim since he is often a below-the-rim finisher. Just look at the Suns’ last game against Memphis, a team that has a few shot-blockers itself. The Grizzlies racked up eight blocks in that game, with several coming from Nurkic shot attempts.

With a playoff-like atmosphere expected for tonight’s game against Phoenix, expect AD to be active in the paint, especially since he doesn’t have to worry as much about covering Nurkic at the three-point line or just inside of it.
